About this ebook

Every child has a dream. When I was a kid, I did not have an extraordinary dream to be somebody, as I had been through the dream itself. Seems like everytime I opened my eyes from nightime sleep, I was in different places: being a citizen in some part of the world, a dream every child ever had.

I was awake when I was in my homeland without knowing what I want to be in the future. I was in search for being myself and by going through 12 years working at my present job then I know what I want. I want to be what I wish for when I was a teenager: a writer. It was really my dream that I could find a book with my name written on it in every shelf of book stores. It was just amazing to think that people would read my writings and influenced other people by what I wrote.

I just thought that I am not too late to reach that goal as I also found that it was not only people like myself who in search for an identity. I have been hand in hand with my office as well as the whole nation to reach what we dream for. I was born as a dreamer and Im part of a community dream. I am a dreamer..so what!

    Chapter I

    A Dreamer… !

You too then which planet are you in?

asked Antoine de saint Exupery in his book The Little Prince

Writing this book, I have so many questions to be asked. It is not difficult questions, but you just need to be honest to yourself. Well.. sometimes, you need a courage to do a simple thing as honesty. My questions related to you and your dream.

First question : how old are you?

Secondly : do you know in mid what you want to be when you grow old?

Thirdly : what are you interested in now?

Fourthly : Is there anything in particular you like to do as your hobbies?

Fifthly : Is your dream related to your hobbies?

Those are some questions you need to answer and we will discuss them in this book.

Every single person must have an old fashioned dream, a dream that one day they could be an important person: a diplomat, a lawyer or a doctor. I said old fashioned is because sometimes that is a dream of other people, parents to be precise, that they influence their children to become what they want the children to be. Parents could do anything, anything at all starting from an early age. They choose high quality school so that the children might get best standard education and therefore they won’t find any difficulty at all to compete when they have to register at the university. When the time has come for the children graduated as a lawyer or a doctor, then that is the time for the parents to say with big proud:

That is my little son. He is a lawyer now.

Do they know what is hiding inside the lawyers mind? Do they want to know? Is that important anyway, since they now get what their wish that their child has become a lawyer?

Dream..a five letter word with a complex concept. You step your foot at present time, but you have to think what you want to be in the future, a certain time where you could not touch it, obviously or even feel it. You just depend on your thought. You could think every single way to prepare yourself to become what you had dreamt for. The problem is at early age our way of thinking sometimes could be easily influenced by other people’s way of thinking. In this case, you need to think for who you are, a person who still needs support from other people. In return those people will ask you a favor that you need to become what they want you to be. I am sure this cycle of support is an embryo for what people nowadays called globalisation.

My father was a banker. As a father he wished to have all his 5 children well educated and he wished that his children will have everything they need. I have to admit that we did have what we need but at the same time my father wanted us to study further. He even let us choose which country we could go for continuing studying. Everything seems very simple to us, and it is because our father could afford it. All five of us had a chance to study outside Indonesia. As for me, time guided me to get my degree at law school at the UK. Well..I learnt later on that my father happened to have his heart in law when he was at banking school. I am sure, therefore that he is very proud of me when I became a lawyer. After having finished my postgraduate school, I wished to work at one of the law firms. Too bad Indonesia was hit by economy crisis at that time and it gave bad impact to most of small banks and companies. Law firms, on the other side, were having a fortune by demanding high rate fee for consultation. The sad thing was they did not recruit fresh graduate lawyer. Well..why do you need a wooden spoon to stir a cake when there is a mixer on the store?

I ended up working at the office where it has the work to
