About this ebook
Melvin Neal Edwards
My name is Melvin Neal Edwards. I am a new author/writer of children’s books. I was born on July 31, 1959, in New York City. I am the fifth child out of six. I lived in New York City for most of my life and have relocated to upstate New York since 1987. I am happily married with six children and one grandson. I worked for the New York State Department of Correctional Services for twenty-seven years. All my life I tried to keep out of trouble so I would not end up in jail, but I ended up there anyway. I have since retired, and I’m currently working as a school bus driver. It’s a great job. I love working with children. I am learning how to be a mentor in life and to be a positive role model to the young adults. I always inform the students when I am picking them up for school in the school bus, ladies first. The young female students love this. I also praise the young men for their cooperation. I truly hope you enjoy my books. Melvin Neal Edwards

Blakee the Bald Eagle - Melvin Neal Edwards
Chapter 1
black.jpgOnce upon a time, there was a Father Eagle, a Mother Eagle and six baby eagle eggs. The six baby eagle eggs were in a nest built by Father and Mother Eagle. The eagle’s nest was in an old oak tree. This old oak tree was next to a large lake. The lake was called Lake Erie. Lake Erie had lots of fish swimming in its water all year round. There were big fish, little fish, and very tiny fish.
Chapter 2
black.jpgWinter was over and spring time was finally here. One of the six baby eagle eggs in the nest was much larger than the other five. This baby eagle egg took up most of the room in the nest. Father Eagle said to Mother Eagle look how big this egg is! It is bigger than all of the other eggs in the nest.
Mother Eagle replied I have never seen a baby eagle egg this big! I wonder if it is going to be a girl or a boy.
Father Eagle said I know it is going to be a boy! Mother Eagle replied,
I don’t know; it could be either a girl eagle or a boy eagle; we have to wait and see."
Chapter 3
black.jpgAs the days and weeks went by, Father and Mother Eagle were still waiting for the six eggs to hatch. Father Eagle and Mother Eagle took turns sitting softly on the six eggs to keep them warm. They would take their clawed feet and turn the eggs from top to the bottom. The large eagle egg was too hard to turn with their clawed feet. Father and Mother Eagle would take their
