I WAS UP very early on Sunday morning, 4.30am in fact. I picked my brother Alan, loaded our Parrot Society (PSUK) stand into my car and headed off to the Newark Show and Sale Day.

There were plenty of nice quality birds on sale. I was taken with some mutation golden-mantled rosellas, but managed to resist the temptation to purchase them becausea carrying case with you. If you have to go off to your car to get a case, they will more than likely be gone before you get back. Be prepared and ready to spring into action - and get that wallet out.
