Beloved, We Are One
()
About this ebook
In 1996, during a period of questioning and evaluating his life up to that date, Lee McEachern took to heart spiritual writings he had read which emphasized the fastest way to lasting love, real peace, and happinessand maybe even Godwas through the eternal flame of love and something happened. Lee felt like he was just a regular guy, but he had experienced something extraordinary that was out of this world and absolutely beyond words. Trusting in the Beloved (with a capital B), he made a connection to a Oneness of Love, then he spent three years creating his own spiritual writings (something that he had never done before) trying to describe the peace, love, and joy that he had glimpsed. He felt he knew that it resided at the center of our beingat the center of the being of everyone and everything. He knew the Beloved was in all of us. What if I can get them to see a spark of that infinitely loving Oneness? he thought. But after three years of teaching Oneness poetry, he stopped or at least tried to, because the normal, regular, real world needed his attention. His wife and son needed his attention. In early 2013 Lee read Dr. Eben Alexanders book, Proof of Heaven. His fascinating and strong message of an infinitely loving Oneness that is here now...and more real than anything we can perceive with our physical senses...made Lee think of his own teaching Oneness poetry. In his book Dr. Alexander wrote, We are connected as One through our divine link with God. Lee thought, His whole book resonates with what I experienced and what I was trying to describe back in the 90s. If a well educated, well respected neurosurgeon and scientist can stick his neck out and share his unorthodox oneness-of-love experience, then I will too! So, Lee dusted off the old poems, added a few newer ones (remember, he said he tried to stop!). and here you have Beloved, we are One. (Thank you, Dr. Alexander, for giving me the nudge I needed to move forward. Lee)

“My name is Lee McEachern, and I am just a regular guy; born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, where I currently live with my wife and our cocker spaniel. At the time of this writing, our son is about to graduate from college. I was raised in a middle-to-upper class household, but there was a certain amount of discord In 1996, I had a family of my own.”….. Now, “enter stage left”… or out of nowhere… that male mid-life dilemma when a perfectly normal guy wakes up one day, looks around and says, “Is this it?” He has it all, and for some reason he thinks it’s not enough. Having seen his childhood family broken up, Lee did not want to see that happen to him. Wanting real success and real happiness, he decided to channel that energy into thoughts, feelings and activities that would, hopefully, have better results than his parents had gotten. He remembered reading about the intensity of spiritual love……

About the Author
Dedication
This book is dedicated to my mother, Virginia McEachern Harrison, who passed away April 24, 2013, about one week before I was going to send the manuscript of this book to the publisher. She was 86 years old and died peacefully in her sleep.
Virginia was a wonderful, loving, smart woman. She was an English major in college and later received her Master’s degree in Education and Library Science. Throughout her life, at various times, she was a full time homemaker, an elementary school teacher, and a librarian. And she was always a full time mother to my two sisters and me.
The love a parent has for a child is a powerful, strong force that must be directly connected to the Force of Love that is at the core of our being. My mother’s love pointed me in the direction that led to a glimpse of that Powerful Love. She helped enable me to grow in the love of her and my father, Clarence; in the love of my family and friends; in the love of my beloved wife and son, Alyce and Max; and eventually . . in the love of an infinitely loving Beloved and eternal God, thus completing the circle, which amplifies the love that had been felt all along the way.
Thank you for your love and your life, Mom. I dedicate this book to you.
Prologue
Is love romantic or spiritual? We say God is love, but we also use love as a reason, or an excuse, to do so many un-Godly things. Indeed, playing with love is like playing with dynamite. It can blow up in your face, or it can be a useful tool!
Love is similar to other attracting
forces in nature such as magnetism, gravity and the nuclear forces that hold atoms and molecules together. And out of those three, it may be most like gravity, for we can manipulate and control atomic energy and magnetism, but have yet to harness the force of gravity. It is simply there
and we work within its laws.
Love is like that. The ones who think they control it—within themselves or in relation to another person—eventually realize that they play by love’s rules, and not the other way around.
And what are love’s rules? Perhaps it’s like the unifying mathematical equation that all physicists are looking for, that unites the math of the strong
