Foreword
In my first few years as a University student I learned a number of things. Firstly, I learned that 24 hours are not enough to provide a chance of being a successful student and having a life. Secondly, I learned that sleep was something I was not ready to miss as much as I did and thirdly, I learned I was not as much of a grown up as I had insisted I was to my parents. In these early years I was lucky enough to meet the author of the book you are about to read. We became fast friends and she unknowingly taught me that the lessons I had learned truly were unfounded. Here was a bright and independent woman, working her way towards greatness and the rest of us could only wish that we could work as hard. Very quickly my sleepless nights and declaration of not having time proved to be excuses in the light of someone who so easily mastered these things. The fact that I wasn’t as grown up as I thought just turned out to be the truth, surprise, surprise.
Fast-forward a few years and she has become a mother, a graduate, a student, a published poet, now a published author and a mogul. She has become a woman we can all learn from and, lucky for us, she has given us these lessons in a wonderful book full of witty comments that will have you laughing out loud and admitting to yourself that you may just be hiding away from the glaring truth of how you may be holding yourself back after all.
By now, you must be desperate to move on from the longwinded foreword that you accidentally thought was a part of the book (what a champ you are for getting this far), and I will let you go with the following warning.
This book may cause you to kick yourself into gear, and it may teach you to be honest with yourself about the way you go about your life. It’s a kick in the pants, it’s up to you to decide if you’re willing to take the chance and read it.
Greetings from an undeserving nobody

Knowing Life
Life can become very difficult. People often wonder why I even have the audacity to say that because I am not even 25. However, to me life is difficult nonetheless.
Growing up, I always associated myself with people older than me, which I believe contributed a lot to my current approach towards life. During this process I got to know life, or at least the fundamentals of it. I then ended up formulating what I call The basic recipe of growth containing three easy steps that are guaranteed to lead to one’s growth.
Step 1: You must acknowledge your mistakes. You must become aware of what you have done… How else will you know that what you have done is wrong if you do not acknowledge it at all?
Step 2: You need to accept that you have made a mistake. You have to accept that you have wasted time and that you acted out of foolishness. You have to admit that you messed things up really badly. You have to acknowledge that you acted like a person with no purpose in life. It is only once you start accepting this that your growth will start taking place.
Step 3: You have to build up. You have to commit yourself to changing your situation. Overall, change is not something that can occur spontaneously, you have to build it from the ground up.
Life needs commitment and once you feel that things are too hard for you; that is when you need to intensify your praying. That is when you need to go on your knees and talk to God.
In one of his sermons, Pastor Att Boshoff once mentioned that when one becomes more successful, a lot of pressure will often build up. And that is when one’s faith becomes tested and your actual character is revealed. It is therefore only once you learn to acknowledge and accept what you have done, that you will be able to fix your mistakes. Remember not to do things just for the sake of doing them because by-the-way things will give you by-the-way results
.
I love growth because it is one of the greatest challenges that one has to go through in order to be able to start the journey of life. From birth till grade 12 you are alive but you only start living after matric. It therefore becomes extremely important for you to start thinking about the seeds that you want to plant while you are still alive in order to reap the fruit you want once you start living.
What is important for you to know is that everything is up to you. The way you handle situations in your life is up to you. You and only you can set and direct your compass to reach the destination that you want to reach. However, the advice I want to give to you, is that you should know what you want! Set your goals and work hard to meet those particular goals. Success will not just fall in your lap, you have to build it and it is not easy.
Take it like your mother when you were just
