About this ebook

The search for true happiness and our own authenticity is one of our deepest and most natural inclinations, yet the majority of us spend our entire lives never having found the answer to these questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose? These questions seem so simple, yet they are extraordinarily difficult to answer.

But what does living authentically really mean? If we could wake up tomorrow and be our authentic selves, who would we be? What type of things would we do? In what ways would our lives change? What would it take to make you happy with your life? It doesnt matter if youre rich or poor, young or old, or all things in between. The truth is that the majority of us are dissatisfied with our current states of living. This is because we are not being authentic with ourselves.

It is time for us to

discover how our minds work;
learn how we create our reality;
enlarge our vision;
find our true selves.

We struggle daily seeking out ways in which to make our lives reflect who we feel we are, while striving to survive, but who are we really? Who are we as individuals with individual consciousness? As a member of a society that shares a collective consciousness, who are we? Its time to seek out the new youthe true you.

    SYNOPSIS

    INTRODUCTION

    Can any of us be certain that the life we are living is truly ‘Ours’? Are we living the lives we had always imagined, or couldn’t have imagined? Are we living our lives in ways that we never expected? Stop for a second and think about your life as it is in this precise moment. If someone were to ask you to describe your life, what would you say? Are you currently happy ? If you are what are the qualities that equal happiness to you? If at the moment you are dissatisfied, what would it take to make you happy with your life? In all honesty, the majority of us have complaints about our lives. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, young or old, or, all things in between. The truth is, the majority of us are dissatisfied with our current states of living. Why is this? Because we are not being authentic with ourselves. We struggle daily seeking out ways in which to make our lives reflect who we feel we are, while striving to survive, but who are we really? Who are we as individuals with individual consciousness? As a member of a society which shares a collective consciousness? Who are we?

    Chapter 1

    THAT WE ARE CONDITIONED

    Around the time when we first start to develop a sense of self awareness, our cultural conditioning begins. We are conditioned into certain patterns of thinking, habits and, behavior that ‘we believe’ represents who we are, by our parents, our teachers, our media and, our peer groups. We create an identity that reflects what we think’ the world wants to see. We create an identity that is not real. We then practice being this ‘unreal self’ for so long, that we start to belive in our own false-selves.

    Chapter 2

    MECHANISMS OF OUR CONDITIONING

    Let’s take a look at the mechanisms of our conditioning. In order for us to have a full understanding of the ways in which we were conditioned we need to first define the two types of conditioning. A vast majority of our behaviors are shaped by the pairing of stimuli. How often does the smell of a certain aroma, arouse an intense emotion? How many of us have heard a song and felt deeply moved? In reality, it isn’t the aroma, or the song that causes the emotional reaction. It is what the scent and song are associated with that causes the emotion. The scent of a certain perfume may remind you of a teacher you had, that you liked very much. When you detect the smell it makes you feel good because it reminds you of a person you associated positive feelings with. We spend the majority of our lives making these types of associations all of the time, without ever realizing it. We are also unaware of the effect these ‘associated pairings’ have on our lives.

    Chapter 3

    OUR VALUES

    Just what are our values and how do we arrive at them?

    Every one of us came into this world with our own innate personality traits, this is our nature, but during the course of our entire lives we take in experiences of our senses. These experiences begin to form our beliefs and attitudes, and ultimately form a relatively consistent set of personal values to which we regularly refer to make all of our judgments about the world and our future experiences. Most of our values are generally enshrined in our conception of the world, our ideologies. The effect of this is that they are often unconscious and therefore unquestioned.

    Chapter 4

    WELCOME TO YOUR EGO

    What is my ego and what does it have to do with my values? More than you know!Although it is virtually submerged in the deepest recesses of you, Your ego keeps an account of practically every experience you have ever had, how you felt about those experiences, and how you chose to deal with those same type of feelings and experiences in the future. It then stores them practically for life. And, it is highly sensitive to your internal stimuli. It listens to what you think, makes the corrections according to the information that you input into it. It’s output become your behaviors and responses. It is a
