About C. Henry Lewis
Words to sustain christians on fire
Introduction
From wet to dry and on fire. This is a very interesting topic as we will be talking about a process or transformation of the believer. But I will call them the three stages of a Christian believer. From wet to dry and from dry to on fire. To understand more clearly what the Lord wants to show through this issue, the Bible says in 1 Kings 18:32-38:
Elijah built an altar with the stones in the name of the Lord, he made a trench around the altar, as would contain two measures of seed. Then prepared the wood, and cut the bullock in pieces, and put it on the wood. He said,
Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the Holocaust and on the wood. He said, Do it again, and again they did. He said, Do it the third time and did the third time, so that the water ran round about the altar, and also had the ditch filled with water.
When it came time to offer the sacrifice, Elijah the prophet came near and said, "Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, is now that thou art God in Israel, and I am your servant, and that mandated I have done all these things. Answer me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou, Oh Lord, are God, and that you turn their hearts back to you. Then fire fell from the Lord and consumed the sacrifice, the wood, stones and dust, and licked up the water in the ditch.
Note:
The first consumed was the meat of the Holocaust. A Christian can not be turned on in the Holy Spirit and walk in the works of the flesh, Galatians 5:19-26 Manifested are works of the flesh, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred , strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissensions, heresies, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I said before, that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. But those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Let us beware not to walk in the flesh for the devil can make us fried steak
These works of the flesh mentioned in the book of Galatians are strange fire. The first things that God’s fire burns and consumes in us are all the works of the flesh that were in our lives before we knew Christ. They were leading us into eternal damnation, away from Gods commonwealth . Before you say you are on fire ,make a spiritual analysis of yourself and make sure that these works of the flesh have been crucified. If you want to be a Christian burning on the fire of the Holy Spirit, tell the Lord, burn in my life all the lo works of the flesh first .
The second thing the fire consumed was the wood. This wood was not dry,Elijah had ordered that water be poured over it not once but three times. This wood was soaking wet and very difficult to be lighted. We know that wet wood as we try to light it what we get is a lot of smoke. In a case like this , if you look from afar it would seem that there is a huge fire when in reality, when you get close you find out that it is just a lot of smoke. We find some christians to be similar, they appear to be burning in the fire of the Spirit but when you get close to investigate you find out than in reality its all smoke ,they are just all wet ,frustated and loaded with all sort of problems. When Gods fire comes from heaven over the individual,it does not mattter what flood of problems or frustations the christian may have the true fire from God will consume them all. My God can do all things , except fail.If he lit the wet wood,he will also set you on fire.
That God,s fire consumed the stones also is something serious.Normally when a holocaust was offered they would gather the ashes but the stones remained,in this case the fire that came from heaven even consumed the altar stones. Those solid stones God made ashes.
This was our heart before serving Christ. Our heart was as hard as a rock, but when the fire of God came into our lives, this hard and evil heart we had was transformed, God gave us a new heart, full of grace and love.Glory to God!
God’s fire licked up the water in the trench and even licked the dirt, there was nothing left on the altar that was dedicated to God. He made disappear before the eyes of all people, everything that was on the altar of burnt offering. So if we put ourselves in God’s hands, he will also remove the sins that can prevent our entrance into the kingdom of heaven.
So, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1
23743.jpgLet us now turn the wet and dry christians
on fire ,this way they will be transformed
from wet to dry and from dry to ...
ON FIRE !!!
Proverbs 26:20,21
Without wood a fire goes out,
The charcoal embers and wood to fire;
23737.jpgThis verse in Proverbs says to feed wood into the fire, but, who’s the wood? and who is the fire? And how do we feed it? The firewood are the the Christians and the fire is the Holy Spirit of God. For the sacrifice, or a true worship, we need the wood and fire, but the wood must be ignited in order to consume the Holocaust. I will tell you how to light the love of wet Christians . I will use a spanish acrostic of a very short word that has a profound meaning. This word is AMOR
‘LOVE" each letter will represent one of four principles.
And now abideth faith, hope and love, these three, but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
Four principles with the word LOVE (AMOR)

The Wet ones
First Kings 18:30-35
Then Elijah said to all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people approached him, and he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken. And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord given by saying, Israel shall be thy name, built with the stones an altar in the name of the Lord, he made a trench around the altar, as would contain two measures of seed. Then he prepared the wood, and cut the bullock in pieces, and put it on the wood. And he said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the Holocaust and on the wood. He said, Do it again, and again they did. He said, Do it the third time and they did the third time, so that the water ran round about the altar, and also had the ditch filled with water.
In the previous verses 20-29 we see Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal for the people to see who the true God was. They cut an ox and put it on an altar of dry wood so they could make fire come down to burn the Holocaust. This did not happen, even though they prayed from early morning until noontime. The problem was not in the wood but in their god Baal. Elijah wanted to make the challenge more difficult, and when he made his altar to God with dry wood he had it soaked with water, which was more difficult to ignite. So are wet christians, difficult to ignite, but ... Could it be impossible? Like those people who were insensitive to the things
