INTRODUCTION

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Act 1:8

Here is the utmost cry of our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ. Have you ever seen when a father is about to die and gives his last message? This is exactly what he looked like when Jesus was to depart from the disciples on Mount Olives. Just before His ascension, he gave  them His last message, encouraging them that... they shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon them...

The Holy Ghost is our only means of survival if we will win the world for Jesus!

The Holy Ghost, the only driver of our passion if we will let the world know that a Saviour died for them! We must be baptised in His fire.

No evangelist can do much without Him. The world is too soaked in darkness to go into it without a lighted gospel. The light of the gospel that burns the rumbles of unrighteousness is the fire of the Holy Ghost.

The word of God makes it clear to us that no spectacular thing, whether concerning the salvation of a soul or casual miracles, can happen without the power of the highest. Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Until the power of the highest overshadows us and we are changed into another man, we may remain crippled, only doing what ordinary men would do.

God is seeking a generation He can baptize with His fire. He is seeking willing and yielding men who will lock themselves up again in their upper rooms, like in the days of the Apostle, till they are soaked in the fire that quickens. His promise to them still remains the same: they shall receive power, after that, the Holy Ghost is come upon them...

Whoever waits will not be cast away. As you proceed in this book, get ready for a baptism by fire, for the bible says For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. As I thought of starting this book, one of the hymns that depict the advent of the baptism by fire as put in the scriptures which came readily to mind is the lyrics of the song ‘Let the fire fall’

They were gathered in an upper chamber,

as commanded by the risen Lord,

and the promise of the Father

there they sought with one accord,

when the Holy Ghost from heaven

descended like a rushing wind and tongues of fire:

so dear Lord, we seek Thy blessing,

come with glory now our hearts inspire.

Let the fire fall, let the fire fall,

let the fire from heaven fall;

we are waiting and expecting,

now
