About this ebook

We are all bricklayers of some sortSome of us join things and some of us separate. And its all down to the mindset behind the planning

I know that we all have to play a part in life and its construction
We may need to build the odd wall and fence that protects us and separates us but if life and the situation allows you any tolerance and choiceDear Life

Build only those fences and walls that build sanctuaries and homesand not those that create separation and distanceemptying the heart, eye and soul of nearness.

    About the Author

    Acknowledgements

    Dear AJ and Gaurika

Thank you for keeping me grounded long enough to get the foundation right . . . all the walls decay with time . . . Both good and bad but the foundations survive longer

    1. We All

We all build walls and fences . . .

    Keeping what’s outside them . . . out

    And what’s inside . . . in

We measure distance to remove closeness and nearness of each other . . .

    We divide . . . build individual islands . . .

Only a few lucky chosen ones are given the job of bringing them down

I think I’ll start on the ones I built first before I head out to the streets

    and fields

    2. Days of No Walls

You stay on your side and I’ll stay on mine . . .

We can still hear each other . . . though some words are mumbled too quietly . . .

    Did you say . . . ?

    Did I hear . . . ?

    "Yes . . . I did . . . And I hope dearly you heard . . . I miss the days of no walls"

    3. Islands

We all live on islands . . . personal islands

    Some small . . . some large

Some built on shallow waters . . . some on deep oceans . . .

Some bridgeable . . . and some accessible only if you compromise personal safety and welfare

    We all reach out . . . some of us do it in a small way . . . some with heart in full view . . . missing . . . needing . . . reaching out

The question I often ask: How do we choose where we build our island?

What criteria of desired distance . . . far enough and yet also near at all times . . .

And on call when you most need it?

If it turns out that my island is in an ocean . . . will you still reach out to

    find me?

    What if one day God
