About this ebook

This book contains original lyrics and lyrical poems representing stories of what could be anyone's life. Your own, my own, the good, the bad, and everything in between. For anyone who reads poetry, lyrics, or shares a love of rhyme and the written word. For any musicians in need of a set of lyrics, I would be thrilled to collaborate in any way on such a venture. The internal hope is that through my thoughts and emotions, others may find something to carry them through or to relate to. After all, what else is a lyric to do but to tell a tale to music. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as it has helped me in putting this book together from years I've kept in documentation.

As I begin to sort through years of notebooks and journals, I am finding it rather enlightening to see how little everything has changed within me, while at the same time so much has changed around me. At this point, I am still uncertain as to whether or not this is a good thing or if perhaps I should have a different mind-set now as opposed to the one I had when my love for the written word first became evident. Stability and consistency in my thoughts, beliefs, and emotions are the predominant thread holding all these pages together, as well as what seems to be holding me together against any of the odds I may have faced along the way. I, no different than you or anyone else for that matter, have seen my share of joys and sorrows, happiness and sadness, successes and failures, and in the end always lived to see another day. Though a certain amount of pessimism, helplessness, and negativity pervade many of the verses represented here, so too does the underlying hope and faith allow for the feeling of coming through the tunnel, so to speak, in one piece. That true strength lies in our ability to overcome any of the obstacles that cross our path or whose path we happen to cross. Sometimes troubled times enter into our lives and sometimes we create our own crosses that we then have to bear. Either way, through patience, faith, and belief in one’s self, clarity and direction can be found. Resolution is always around a corner; we just may not know which one, or at what point we will come to that crossroad. Many years removed from its first inception, in another form again, the idea takes shape. Documentation of lives and feelings and events, of moments in time, though in no particular or discernible order, has become again my focus and almost sole motivation. There is a story, a host of them in fact, needing to be told. An almost overwhelming array of emotions in shades of light and dark have for as long as I can remember been my sanctuary. My elaboration on those shades has hence turned into what has become for me a way to turn a corner in this uncertain world. My hope is that through some of these words, others can find some consolation in knowing none of us are alone and that a certain amount of madness is present and acceptable in all of our lives. How it is represented here was my way not carrying everything inside of myself. Thank you. Enjoy.
