David Scott, II, born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, grew up in the Baptist Church. Living in Louisiana, he endured a business failure that caused him to seek the Lord for solutions. Not only did he receive solutions for the business, he received prophetic poems, the Word of the Lord, for all areas of life. In his spare time, David enjoys sports, reading, working out and spending time with his family. David now lives in San Antonio, TX with his wife, Atheria and son, Donovan. He is a member of Cornerstone Church where he serves as a Sunday School teacher.

PREFACE

One day while I was seeking God for answers to the challenges facing me and my family, the Holy Spirit began to softly speak words to my mind and I began to write. These words came in the form of poems. The very first one was very simple. It was milk because I was just beginning. It was…

I worked for peanuts

So do you

I put an end to peanuts

So will you.

My interpretation: Jesus understood and identified with what I was experiencing with my little income and he promised that my situation would soon come to an end. The scripture to support these words was found in 2 Corinthians 8:9

‘For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.’

As I continued to seek God’s face about different challenges, He continued to speak longer and deeper answers through the poems. As I grew, the poems grew from milk to meat. They revealed His will and specific instructions about how to walk in victory in many different areas of life: such as finances, relationships, health, wisdom, directions, faith, power, etc…

After 10 years of seeking the LORD and receiving over 180 poems, I knew the LORD had quickened to me Jeremiah 30:2

Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

I knew from this command that I was to publish these poems so others could be edified, exhorted, comforted and victorious by them.

After receiving each poem, I researched the Bible to find the Scriptures to support it.

The Bible Translations used for all Scripture References were the New King James and King James Versions.

Therefore, ALL poems are Scripturally based.

Please note that even though several of the poems may not be in perfect rhyme, they are however, written according to how the author received them from the Lord.

He has chosen not to alter them in order to make them fit into a standard pattern.

INTRODUCTION

MOMENTS WITH THE MASTER is a Journal of Devotional Prophetic Poems. It is designed not only to be read as a book of poetry, but to be used as an arsenal of the Word of God. These poems are alive. They are the living Word of God. When spoken aloud and acted upon, situations are miraculously changed.

The author used these poems to navigate him and his family through times of hardship and struggles in his personal life. Over a span of 10 years and even now they continue to provide him with wisdom and direction from the Lord. They help him to be victorious in every walk of life. Every poem is built upon the written Word of God.
