About this ebook

This book is the epitome of love, lust, and appreciation in its simplest form. It captures some of the hidden truths of society that are overlooked on a daily basis and sheds light on some of the finer things in life, such as the positive feelings that come with believing in yourself. Wrapping its hands around the many feelings that love and lust bring as it blooms and/or withers away, Her Muse Overfilled with Ink touches hearts. It boggles minds while telling many stories of a young womans soul. Enriched with penetrating words that formulate knowledgeable thoughts, it is a modern version of the classic love for the art of writing.

Shavá Quiñones

My name is Shavá Quiñones. I am twenty-three years of age. I am a writer, artist, student, and mother. My passion for writing has consumed me from age eight. Pleased to see that my writing affected people, I used it as my outlet when it seems that no one understood me. As a young adult, I aspire to get the youth of the streets and into positive activity. Helping them to see that society is not always peachy, but they are strong enough to not get caught up in the negativity that surrounds them. When able, I volunteer at Shiloh Baptist Church. I am from the Bronx, but I found that New Rochelle is my spiritual home.

True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us.

    Preface

This is for the misunderstood youth of today’s generation. There are so many ways to characterize the trends that we follow, the styles that influence us and the thoughts that are constantly flowing within the inner workings of our brains. It is absolutely ok to be yourself and follow your beliefs. At the rate that society is changing, it is very easy to get caught between what the cool thing to do is and what we would do given different societal circumstances. Define yourselfs and do not let anyone define or intimidate the character that you work so hard to let shine by just living each day.

At times it is scary to face a world in which you have no idea what your place or purpose is. There is not one thing wrong with facing the unknown and learning from your experiences until you obtain a better idea of what it is you were truly put on this earth to do. Some people have the gifrt of just knowing while others have the gift of time on their side. In due time the prevalence of your existence will unravel itself right before your eyes and hopefully you are given the opportunity to fulfil your dreams as well as your purpose.

These series of poems were written this year and hold a very special place in my heart in terms of sharing with others.
