Many people define love as a powerful yet indescribable emotion that draws us to a person, place or thing. Some don’t feel that it’s an emotion at all, just a temporary energy derived from a sexual attraction. There are those who are in love with the idea of being in love, so they find themselves on a never ending chase for a high that they can’t satisfy. Some are so afraid of it, that they build a house around their heart and refuse to open the door for anyone who comes knocking. Some of us settle for the simplicity of companionship rather than the intricacies of a partner. We continue to debate whether it is truly better to live and have loved as opposed to never loving at all. Love brings happiness beyond belief. Acceptance. Security. Purpose. Love gives us insecurity. Drives us to the brink of madness. Causes us to lose sense of self and forces us to sacrifice reason for the need to understand and be understood. Love delivers beatings both physical and emotional. Love can suffocate and separate a person from life. Love can sustain lives
