Authors Note
If any person asked me to describe or define my work I would describe it as creative writing with poetic overtones
that can provoke analytical thought and reflection as well as generate a diverse range of interpretations.
I hope that this book will generate as diverse a range of interpretations as there are people that read it. I structured most of the poems and short stories with the aim of creating captivating human images with a unique message for each unique reader and ultimately touching the reader in a very positive way.
Rhythms of A Broken Soul
is a collection of poems that are a narrative that reflects upon the human condition and those aspects that set human beings apart from animals and what sets humanity apart from itself. It studies mans ongoing struggle to understand his nature and mans never-ending quest to answer the big questions.
I would like to thank all the people that inspired me, assisted me, encouraged me and made this anthology possible with a very special thanks going out to my family and close friends
When asked to describe my work I am often hesitant to call it poetry. I would call it a collection of short stories written in verse. I have noted that readers wonder what my frame of mind was when I wrote most of this collection and find it hard to believe that I wrote eighty percent of this book during some of the happiest times of my life.
Only a fraction of the poetry in here relates in anyway to my own experience. It is more of an observation of other people’s lives and experiences.
I sincerely hope you enjoy this book and that it touches your lives in the most positive way possible.

Another Day
Cover%20Img.jpg01.jpgThe Pages of Reality
The truth that enslaves me shall set you free
The voices that haunt me shall bring you comfort
The words that confuse me shall give a new meaning
The nightmares that plague me will bring peace when dreaming
The horrors I hallucinate will paint stunning vistas in your mind
Your eyes shall finally be opened, before today you were blind
I will tell you each a terrifying tale for all the ages
The lives you lead will reflect on these dark pages
Be very afraid for the truth lies between these hard covers
Truth about our eternity, our dreams and of bleeding lovers
I look within the hearts of men and I find little morality
As I put my pen to paper and narrate on this dark reality
The Question
To some I bring sadness, to some I bring peace
For some I am welcome, to them I bring release
Knocking at the door always the unwelcome guest
Asking, please open the door so I can bring you rest
You had too much to drink and now you’re driving home
Fear not I’m here with you, for you are not alone
I’ll get you home don’t be afraid, I’ll lay you down to sleep
I’ll stay with you, I’ll pray with you, the lord my soul to keep
Your bones are broken, your flesh is torn; there is no more to endeavor
The question now that I must ask, Do you wish to live forever?
For some I am as dawn is to a new day
For others I am as dusk, the sunshine fading away
Caught, struggling in the grip of a faceless disease
Writhing without comfort, without cure, without ease
You have been so unwell, in pain for so long
To your bedside I will come, embrace and make you strong
Let me take the pain away, you’ll never cry another day
My work is to accompany and start you walking on your way
Your heart has ceased, your flesh is diseased; there is no more to endeavor
The question now that I must ask, Do you wish to live forever?
You cry when I visit, you hate me when I call
You boast when you escape
