About this ebook

Mary Allen’s never been a guy magnet. Most men are put off by her confidence in the workplace. Not Sebastian. He kindles a passion she thought was long dead. After one scene, she’s ready to jump back into the lifestyle. But can a workplace romance really work?

Sebastian Paul came back to the Underground after time away to figure out what he wanted from his life. He can’t escape the desire or the need for the scene, but he hasn’t found his perfect sub—until he spots Mary. He never expected to see her at the club. She works with him, and although she oozes confidence, he notes her desire to submit. He wants Mary as his girl. No question. But will she want him in return?

When passion ignites, love will find a way.

    Chapter One

Mary Allen sighed and leaned against the bar. Being friends with the owner of the Underground BDSM club and his wife gave her slightly better access to the club, but she was still a sub. She wasn’t anyone important. She didn’t mind being low on the importance level at the club. She preferred blending in. Where her friend had a steady Dom, Mary was free. She could play with whomever she wanted—except the man she wanted wasn’t there.

Being owned, though, was her ultimate goal. She wanted a Dom of her own. Someone to cherish and push her. Someone like Dean, the owner of the club.

She didn’t love Dean. Admired him, yes, but love? No. He belonged to her best friend, Andi. Mary refused to step in on their relationship.

Hey you. Andi stopped at the bar. Why aren’t you playing? As she moved, the bell on her collar jangled. Aren’t you bored? The tight corset accentuated Andi’s curves and kept the girls in place. The patent leather of her boots shimmered, and the tiny skirt provided enough coverage to stay modest.

I’m not bored. I’m depressed. Mary shrugged. I’m not sure what to do.

What do you mean? There are scenes going on everywhere, and you know the people. No one strikes your fancy?

That’s not it. She couldn’t say anything. Her being unattached wasn’t Andi’s fault. Never mind.

Now stop. Andi bumped shoulders with Mary. This is me. We tell each other everything. What’s wrong?

She might as well be honest. Andi wouldn’t let up until she knew. I’m jealous. You found Dean, and I’m glad. He’s great with you. She’d witnessed their scenes and lusted for a Dom just like him.

    But you want someone.

Yes. At least when you weren’t with Dean and weren’t married … you and I were a team. Now you’re with him. I don’t mind because you should be together, but when I see you with him, it makes me want a man of my own. Wow, she’d gotten whiny in her old age. So she was only thirty-two…

Is there a Dom you’re interested in? Andi asked.

No. She’d seen them all, and no one spoke to her soul.

Justin’s off limits. What about Delana? Andi half-shrugged. Maybe she’s who you want.

I want a male Dom. Delana’s great, but she’s hunting for a hunk, too. Mary swept her gaze over the crowd. She knew everyone there, but one man caught her attention. Sebastian Paul. She gasped. She knew Sebastian. Too well. What was he doing at the club? He’d never struck her as being interested in the lifestyle, much less a Dom.

What? Andi nudged Mary. Who do you see?

A guy from work. She sank onto the nearest stool. Would Sebastian care if he knew her? Would he out her? They worked together. He wouldn’t want to out her … right? He’d risk outing himself.

Oh, Master Seb. Andi nodded. He and Sir are friends. I guess he started coming back to the club last month. You know him?

Not as a Master. He worked in the area next to hers at the air traffic control center. They shared working hours one day a week. When their breaks aligned, they talked about life, music, and whatever else they thought of. She liked him and looked forward to their Thursdays together.

Well, he’s friends with Sir. Maybe I can set up a meeting. We can all play or hang out. Andi grasped Mary’s hand. Come on.

Andi. She didn’t mean to be pushy or expect special treatment. They were at the club, and she didn’t deserve to be ballsy. She could be forthright, and Doms didn’t want subs to top from the bottom. They wanted bratty subs. She wasn’t bratty. She also wasn’t sure she wanted to submit to Sebastian. She didn’t want to ruin the friendship.

Just come with me. Andi tugged Mary into the private room.

Dean stood in the middle of the space. Oh. He leveled his gaze at Andi. What’s going on, girl?

Sir. Andi clasped her hands together and bowed her head. I have a question.

This was supposed to be our session. Master Dean folded his arms. What’s the question? Mary?

Mary sighed. Andi had pissed Dean off. She’d incur the wrath and punishment. Why? This was Mary’s idea. Master Dean, Andi wanted to introduce me to one of the Sirs.

Oh? His brows rose. Did you, girl?

Yes, Sir. Andi kept her head down. You know the Sir.

I know all of them, Dean said. He didn’t move from his spot. Who?

I’m not sure of his name. Mary wasn’t totally lying. She didn’t know him by his Master name.

Then why ask? Dean narrowed his eyes. Girl?

Master Seb, Andi said. The new Master.

    Ah. Dean nodded. Girl.

Andi scampered to Dean’s side and knelt at his feet. Her bell jingled, and her hair obscured her face.

Dean petted her head, but stared at Mary, who squirmed. He didn’t owe her anything. Good grief. He’d stuck up for her when her sister, Lucy, had insulted her lifestyle. He hadn’t batted an eyelash when he found out she and Andi were friends. Would he help her now? Or would he be a hard-ass?

You wanted Andi to con me into setting you up with Master Seb? Dean asked. Speak up.

Ah. He was going to be a hard-ass. Yes, Sir. I would like that. I didn’t put her up to it, but I’d like to play with Master Seb. His name tingled on her lips.

I see. Dean nodded once. Wait here. He tugged Andi’s hair. Come.

Yes, Sir. Andi scrambled to her feet. She kept her head down and her hands behind her back. She followed Dean out of the room, leaving Mary on her own.

Mary shifted her weight from one foot to the other. What were they doing? Leaving her alone? Damn.

Dean returned and pointed to the intercom. See that red light?

Yes, Sir. She’d never noticed the light before, but whatever.

The intercom is recording the sound and camera records the video. I’ll be in my private quarters, but I’ll keep an eye on you and Master Seb. It’s for your safety and peace of mind. I want you to be at ease with him, but I’ll monitor the situation just in case something goes wrong.

Thank you, Sir. She inched over to the bench and waited for Master Seb. I appreciate it, Sir. She folded her hands on her lap and reconsidered what she’d worn to the club. The corset cinched her waist enough to give her curves, but the bra left little to the imagination and the thong didn’t cover much more.

Dean left, and within seconds, Master Seb entered the room.

She averted her gaze. She worked with this man and had talked to him many times, yet he made her nervous. Why? Because this was the club, not the air traffic control center. He strolled across the room and sat beside her. Her hands trembled. Should she speak first? With the other Doms, she was expected to wait her turn.

Mary. Sebastian touched her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. The leather pants molded to his legs and accentuated the muscle. He’d donned a white shirt instead of being bare-chested as he’d been in the main playroom. The cotton conformed to his upper body like a second skin. He tipped his head to the side. You can look at me and talk. We’re not in a scene. Unless we arrange a scene, you can speak to me as an equal.

Unless we’re in the main playroom, too, she said. Correct? He wouldn’t bend the rules for her.

Yes, but only because it undermines my authority out there. He smiled. His green eyes sparkled, and she noticed the scruff on his cheeks. The lines around his eyes seemed deeper. I never expected to find you in here.

Why? She wanted to cover up. She’d never been
