Part 1: Waking Up

When my eyes flew open , the first sensation I felt was a searing pain. A hot white light was blazing down from overhead, flooding my retinas with excruciating discomfort. I winced and looked away, and instinctively attempted to lift a hand to block the light. It was then that I found that I had been restrained! Indeed, both of my hands were locked firmly in place, as were my feet. I squinted my eyes and looked down to get a better view of my situation.

It appeared that my body was affixed to some strange metallic device! It ran down my back, with connecting points and my wrists and ankles. The contraption held me extended over a polished tile floor in what looked like a room built for medical or scientific procedures. As my eyes slowly grew adjusted to the garish lights on the ceiling, I began to take in more of my surroundings. I noticed an array of computers off to one side of the room, where several men in white lab coats huddled together. I eyeballed the men curiously. It could have been the bright lights playing tricks on me, but every man in the room looked strangely similar! Finally, one of the men looked up from the huddle and motioned to another technician on the opposite side of the room. The technician nodded and hit his fist on a large red button.

The button turned from red to green, and the floor below me suddenly began to open! I looked down in growing anxiousness. Then, the clasps that bound my hands and feet suddenly unlocked and I went plummeting down into the abyss below me! I opened my mouth to scream but nothing came out except for a faint gasp.

WHAM!!

I landed in a heap on a flat rubber conveyor belt. The drop had been very short, in reality, but I was still extremely frightened by the experience. But before I had a chance to move or react long robotic arms reached out from either side of the belt and grabbed my arms and legs.

Let go of me! I cried, struggling to break free. But it was to no avail.
