Entry# 1 - Maintenance Problems

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

The sound of my alarm clock ringing in my ear broke the spell of sleep I had been under. I reached over and turned off the clock. It was 9:30 on a Saturday morning. The weekends were great because it meant that I didn't have to work. My job keeps me pretty busy throughout the week so I cherish my Saturdays and Sundays. I had been working for a little shop in Meep City for about a month now. It was my first real job since I had escaped Roblox Prison. But that's a memory I prefer not to think about too much. The one good thing to come out of that though had been my friend Dodge. It was Dodge who had helped me find a real job in town and had gotten me back on my feet.

Speaking of Dodge, where was he? He had promised to swing by today so we could hang out together. I pulled myself out of bed and trudged into the bathroom while rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. My phone was on the counter and I glanced at it. No missed calls or texts. Strange. There was a message from the Meep City authorities about some upcoming server maintenance though. I sighed. It seemed like the politicians who ran this place were always trying to make adjustments. Meep City was perfect! They should just let things stay the same!

After I had cleaned myself up I started to feel more alert and ready to meet the day. If Dodge didn't want to hang out that was fine. I could find something to do on my own, perhaps take a trip to a different server for the weekend! I just wish that he had told me he would be canceling our plans. For breakfast, I toasted a bagel and poured myself a glass of orange juice, and then sat down in front of my television to catch some news and enjoy my meal. What came across the screen caught my attention immediately.

Breaking news in Meep City! Officials are mandating that residents travel to the outlying servers for the entire day as critical server maintenance is performed! an attractive news anchor was saying on the screen. More details will be shared after these commercials!
