About this ebook

This is a unique write about a sheltered church girl curious about life, that became a teenage mother turned drug dealer, turned drug user in the cold windy, war torn, poverty stricken streets of Chicago's West Side.

With the loss of her children to the system she thought she had nothing left but to die..."Rock, blows, Park! Rang out like happy slogans of advertisements from dealers to fiends..." With death and the police lurking close by he closed her eyes to retract: How did I get here?...and the ongoing presence of failure, loss and disdain licking at her heels she saw no way out. Had God somehow forgotten about her? Nothing seemed to matter...

Be inspired by her unfiltered and uncensored writing of poetry where she found her lesson and her blessing!

    Introduction

During the process of life there are words and expressions used to sum up a situation or an event that has taken place in or around our lives.

You are about to embark on some spoken word entries that have gotten me through some tough times I’m talking hair pulling on your knees graveling praying to God crying, what in the ham-sandwich is going on asking, singing how did I get here!

We all go through things in life and sometimes we think that we are alone. I am that voice that shares with you, the true fact that you are not alone.

As my mother use to say, There is nothing new under the sun. Need I tell you? She is right.

We can get ourselves into some pretty interesting situations…soul searching ones, regretful dangerous and sometimes fatal ones. Many times we have prayed that prayer, "God if you just get me out of this one I’ll do better, be better and before you can bat your eyes you’re right back in another fox-hole praying.

Some of us make it, we change. Other’s are still struggling or have perished along the way inside or outside of their mess. In reading me I know that you will hear or see yourself, a family member or close friend because truly we are all connected and affected in one form or another. Life is busy, I heard somewhere that knowledge is power I beg to differ, I believe that: "applied knowledge is power."

I have to do this I have to share screaming at the top of my lungs I will, in order to prevent or shorten the length and reason for loss. …The loss of time, negative energy and unnecessary struggles. If you were standing in the middle of the street and a truck was coming wouldn’t you want for me to warn you?

    Right?!

This is what this is all about…loss prevention, I’m doing security and I can not allow loss on my watch. Our living through lesson’s and experience can not be in vain. Pride…guilt and shame can not be the obstacles that stop us from helping.

Every form of instances in life we go through are in order to help others, to be a blessing an informant, this is my way of embracing you. Over the pages filled with ink and truth I am a voice an informant, in a descriptive language of experience and circumstance.

I am sharing these episodes and thoughts out of care, concern and love. I hope that my pieces enlighten and inspire as well as help you. Make you think and allow you to see that we are not unique in this world of trials, tribulations, persecutions, thoughts, fears and dreams, or in search of answers.

    You are not alone.

And…We are not perfect but we can strive to become on a daily basis. God judging us in the end is what we should consider. For me this journey has been a turbulent, in and out of valley traveling, self check seeking, starting with the man in the mirror facing- learning
