What’S in It for Me? Says the Lord - Will Harrison
Elusive Thoughts
Many strange things have entered my world of thought and possibly yours too. Thoughts that could be considered on the side of insane, thoughts that puzzle, thoughts that intrigue, thoughts that empower, thoughts that bring sadness, thoughts that reshape, thoughts of compassion, thoughts of loss, thoughts of temptation, thoughts of love and those that only the Holy Spirit disseminates through His power. I never knew how this took place until now. Somehow, it seems as though my spirit has been made alive in newness of Christ at an astonishing, refreshing rate. Along with this newness, I never imagined how the Holy Spirit could have used such diction exhibiting a fun personality. Although at times He asks odd questions at will. Especially, with the title you caught glimpse of on the cover of this book. Let me elaborate just a little for you in the next several paragraphs.
Before now, I thought publishing a book was never an idea that provided the sticking power it needed to make it into the real world around me or so I thought. As I now know, it really did "stick" only by the confirmation of the Holy Spirit. You now are reading what my God-centered mind, empowered by the Holy Spirit was trying to release in and through me. I must attribute this book entirely to the awesome work of the Holy Spirit’s powerful revelation of Jesus Christ in ways unheard of, at least on my part, up until now. He promised to me after His own title release, He would compose and write it and that He has done. I am just along to enjoy His message and with coincidence, you are too. He is the Writer and I am the scribe holding the pen.
Let me share with you one important dream that actually came in what I can best describe as a three phase succession in one night. I mainly want to focus on the second phase. Let me read it directly from my journal dated 9-17-2010:
While at home, I held an iguana (lizard) in my hand. I toted it to our bedroom and laid it on the top of our comforter. I went off to do other things and returned forgetting about the iguana on the loose. As I was about to fall asleep, I realized it was in the sheets! I heard a voice say very distinctively, ‘The iguana is elusive.’ I stopped to ponder the saying and woke up a second time.
Now let me say this – I have never owned an iguana. I have never picked up an iguana that I can recall except in the above account. Upon reflecting, I have either looked at them through a glass or at some point in time seen them on television. I have not interacted with this type of tough-skinned, easily hidden animal. Nevertheless, the saying, the iguana is elusive
would not depart from me if I tried!
That morning as I woke up, I remember telling my wife, what I knew the Holy Spirit had said but could not wrap my mind around. Its connotation was elusive. As expected, she was just as perplexed as I was. I mean I remembered the iguana was an elusive animal of God’s creation who could camouflage himself disappearing out of sight. I even used Bing’s internet search engine and found nothing at all of value to help aid me in understanding beyond the four words staring me in the face – both on paper and the reflection on the mirror of my mind. I did find that they recently discovered a pink iguana, one of the first of its kind to be documented on a faraway island. I also came to the realization God does not require the world’s internet search engines to find His truth – all we need to do is humble ourselves and remain thankful for all He brings our way.
Much to my delight, this same channel of revelation, so to speak, would show up again but in a more continual colorful delivery that still stings with amazement. Would you like to read the interesting conversation between the Holy Ghost and me? He starts it out like this:
Holy Spirit –The iguana is elusive.
Me – How long will the iguana remain elusive?
I was tired of having to wait on the revelation to come at this point since five days had passed with no real answer. I then said, How does all this add up in my life? I’m asking you Lord. I’m ready…
Holy Spirit – Are you?
It was like he wanted to play some interactive game of some sort. I have to admit it was fun and I never knew at this point God could play
and speak with His children in this unique way.
Me – Yes!
Holy Spirit – What’s in it for me? Says the Lord.
I became increasingly mystified by the question that He seemed to gently, yet heavily impose on my mind with the last response – What’s in it for me? says the Lord.
Initially, I thought He wanted an answer because it was in the form of a question. Additionally, the more I tried to answer it was as if the Holy Spirit was chuckling. Seeing that God not only created my faith eyes to see, including my whole entire physical being, how could I really ever offer something to God, except my worship, when it all originates in Him anyway? The paradox itself seemed elusive, hid in the sands of time somewhere. What words was He stressing? What does the it
mean in the question? Was it some kind of gift I would offer a King for finding out my sole purpose in life? The more I came up with the more I heard silence. I felt as though the Holy Spirit said to sleep on it for a night- you’ll soon get it!
And boy, when I did get it – being the next day – I felt
