    I was born in St. Michael, Barbados and moved to United State of America when I was 3 years old. I grew up in Newark, NJ. I am deaf mother of 3 teen handsome sons, Karon, Travis and Jaison. They are still keeping me motivate to writing poetry in my whole life even we are still going through ups and downs so much in our lives. I might be not good mother to my sons but I know in my heart, I am trying my best as mother as they want me to be. I will always love them no matter what. I thank my sons taught me a lot of lessons in my life everyday. In my late daughter, Ereka-Janelle changed my life instantly after she passed away about more than 10 years ago. If she was alive, she would be 16 years old now. I was not able being there for my sons as much as I want to because I was busy with my life, graduated high school and Gallaudet University with bachelor of science degree in Family Child Studies and work at late nights while I was young mother at age 17 til I am still growing woman. I made a lot of mistakes in my life and I am not perfect mother as you think. As a little girl, I have always love writing poetry and my aunt, Marcelle Trotman, is the one who persuaded me to keep writing any kind of stories. I fell in love with it. I have always wanted to write poetry book one day! She has never doubt me nor in my potential despite of my deafness. I want to thank you for believe in me so much. The most important person in my life is my mother, Marguerite Alleyne and she is the one who is my best friend in the whole world because she has been there for me thin and thick and took care of my sons during in my absence of my youth life and became a teen mother at age 17. I had hardship life with many things happened to my life. I kept writing, writing poetry and it is only way to help me to heal, understand myself and become better person. I want to thank my girlfriends who have always there for me through my experiences, obstacles, hardships, life lessons, and turbulent in my whole life and that goes to Danielle Kearney, Erica Miley, Fatimah Abdul-Rahim and Masi Montes. I thank my former lover, Andy E. Scofield for taught me a lot of lessons about love, trust, patience, grow together, friendship, forgive and yet, best of all was relationship with you. Depsite of my deafness, my teen sons, Karon, Travis and Jaison taught me a good mother, not perfection or best at least. My late daughter, Ereka-Janelle changed my life instantly after she passed away but taught me to be strong mom. My mother, M. Alleyne is my best friend. Thank you, Tricia W. Alleyne
