Clementine Schroeder

Clementine Schroeder’s Biography I was born to George and Christine Schattel on June 29, 1937, in a small farmhouse in Beasley, Texas. I grew up with my sister Charlotte who was one of the wonderful helps that I had. From my earliest childhood memories, I was taught about Jesus from my parents and grandparents. I was always in 4-H Club, showing Brahma cattle and riding in barrel races in Youth Rodeo. Since then, my life has been filled with teaching piano, ministering in state and county prisons and nursing homes, and substitute teaching. I thought my life was fulfilled by having three beautiful children, but then I had grandchildren. It was a wonderful extension of my motherhood. It causes me to look forward in my life to having great-grandchildren. The God of my youth has stayed very real to me all these seventy-three years. I consider my life a servant to the Lord and others. Dolores Lewis’ Biography: Dolores Lewis, co-author has the background of Executive Secretary where she spent many years as a Secretary to Dr. Cliff Herrington and Congressman Joe Barton. Mother of three boys and grandmother of two, Ali and Alec.

    INTRODUCTION

My intention in recording the following events will define a word that is not commonly used or understood: it is glory. The Scriptures use the word often in relationship to our God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But it can also be used for a place or an event. Webster dictionary defines glory as to make glorious by presentation in a favorable aspect. The many experiences that are written here will bring you to understand more and more what life looks like when the glory of the Lord is lived out. I want you to have a visual understanding that the results of what God does can be seen just as we can see the results of the wind. As you read these stories, you will see who God is and what He can do. I am a bystander, a willing servant. I want others to have meaning and purpose, joy and happiness, peace and love that I have.

    Dear Reader,

May your whole body, soul and spirit,

    be in harmony with God.

May His peace be at home in your heart,

and may you know His mighty power that brings victory over every enemy.

I ask that God bring to pass the deepest desires

    of your heart.

That you have no broken relationships

And that you would know His healing presence.

May every need that you have be realized and met by

    His limitless supply.

May all the promises He has for you find fulfillment.

I want for you the greatest measure of contentment,

    The deepest satisfaction

So that you may present God in a favorable aspect.

And be our Creator God’s best compliment.

For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom He paid was not mere gold or silver. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless spotless lamb of God (1 Peter 1:18-19).

    CHAPTER ONE

    The Miracle of

    Guardian Angels

The angel of the Lord is a guard, He surrounds and defends all who fear Him.

    —Psalm 34:7

Whether we believe that angels are or are not is not a question at my house. The encounters that I have had with angels have been extraordinary. I believe that we are all watched over, protected, taught, and many other things that I do not know about by these heavenly beings. The Bible is very specific that we have been assigned ministering angels, each one of us. It also places a great deal of emphasis on the subject of angels because there is much said about them.

In my encounters of thirty years or so, I want to share the first meeting that I realized was actually an angel. I was visiting a prisoner. I had driven three hours and had a letter of permission from our judge and did not expect any problems. So what happens? I was told no, you are not in the computer, sorry. I could not believe what my ears heard. I had been very careful to cover all the requirements and that was what I told the guard. I was upset. The guard dismissed herself, saying she would check another computer.

As I turned to sit down, I saw a lady. She was short, kind of heavy, and was wearing a red dress and red shoes. We spoke. Her voice was so joyful. She asked, How are you today? I said Fine and then she said, No, you’re not. She replied in this lilting musical voice. You are upset and frustrated and you feel hopeless in your predicament. I assured her that was true because in the prison system, when they say no, you cannot go in. They do not change their mind, and there is nothing you can do about it.

She said, What about your faith? Having faith protects you from the enemy (Eph. 6:6). When we lose our faith as you are today, we lose our peace. I said, Yes, that is true! She said, "Faith is believing in God’s
