Macaroni
Here’s to the clever inventor
Who started with just a hole
Wrapped some dough around it
And he was on a roll
Thus macaroni came to be
The choice of many cooks
It really is a tasty treat
In spite of how it looks
It became so popular
That others tried to follow
They took a piece of spaghetti
And tried to make it hollow
A Dream Come True
Today you shared with me some early dreams
And a dream you had when you were a teen
An explicit dream most intimate, it seems
We both know what those things must mean
Finally what you dreamed has come to pass
And new dreams now replace the old
Nothing more intimate will ever surpass
That early dream and the future it foretold
Now if you’re present dreams can be that bold
Perhaps the future they can again foretell
If I’m included, then I should be told
So together our plans will commence to jell
A Journey Into The Unknown
Uncharted waters lie ahead
Captain and Captain at the ready
To embark upon a new course
And venture into the unknown
Two captains, you say, but why
Should not one be the first mate?
The journey they have planned
Requires strong leadership to succeed
Aye, but these two are equal
And each one brings to their ship
That which the other one likes
And these captains love to share and explore
A Little Yellow Robe
It awakened me thinking I had a mouse
A gentle rustling sound when all should be quiet in the house
Rising on an elbow, I peered around in dim light
It was coming from the closet, from the hanging clothes alright
Then to my consternation a yellow robe floated out.
It pirouetted and started dancing all about.
It danced up close to me and suddenly opened wide,
As if to show me all the secrets that were inside.
Then coquettishly it danced away
Its little arms beckoned, Come here
, they seemed to say.
I arose and we commenced to dance.
Just the little yellow robe and I, dancing as in a trance
We whirled and we twirled and never missed a beat
I could hear music playing softly, maybe somewhere in the street
It was so romantic; we danced the whole night through
When they started playing, The Beautiful Tennessee Waltz,
I knew it was adieu.
Oh! How I love that little yellow robe with her name embossed
When we stopped dancing, it gently wiped my eyes and floated back in place.
I was left standing there, and then I went to wash my face.
I must have been dreaming, that is what I suppose
Returning to my bed, I found upon my pillow a fresh yellow rose.
