    ACT 1: SCENE ONE

    Nelson is seen drive down the busy street of Enugu town with Chidimma his fiancée and Amaka, he applied the car brake on approaching Chidimma’s compound

    Nelson (Smiling) extend my regards to Mum.

    Chidimma I thought you will follow me inside.

    Nelson Not to worry my soul mate, I will next time; you know they called me from the office.

    Chidimma Ok (They both romantically gazed at each other for a while before graduating into a passionate kiss)

    Amaka (Distracted their love mood) I know you both have forgotten you are not alone here (They all laughed)

    Chidimma Uto Obi mu, I love you

    Nelson I love you more

    Chidimma Don’t even go there, I love you more

    Nelson You always win, so this one won’t be exceptional (smiles) I have to be on my way I am urgently needed at the office

    Chidimma Alright, (The two friends came down from the car as Nelson drove out).

    LIGHT FADES

    ACT 1: SCENE TWO

    The two friends and Chidimma’s mother are seen inside Chidimma’s family house the sitting room going through the gooddies Nelson bought for them

    Mama: (Admiring her own gifts one after the other) My God in heaven will bless him for me. He will never lack in life.

    Chidimma: Amen

    Mama: Why didn’t he follow you inside at least to eat something?

    Amaka: Mama he was in haste, when we were at the boutique he received a call to report at the office.

    Mama: Ok (She danced around the sitting room excited while Chidimma and her friend laugh at her funny dance moves)

    LIGHT FADES

    ACT 1: SCENE THREE

    Emeka who is nelson’s childhood friend drives into Nelson’s family compound and met Chidi, Neslson’s kid brother who is busy with some house chores

    Chidi: Good morning

    Emeka: How are you doing?

    Chidi: Am fine.

    Emeka: Chidiebere?

    Chidi: (Confused trying to recall Emeka’s face)

    Emeka: You are now a big boy (Looks around) what of Nelson?

    Chidi: (Smiling) Wait Emy this is you

    Emeka (Laughing) have I really changed that you couldn’t recognize me at first?

    Chidi Of course yes, you look good

    Emeka:   Why is Nelson’s mobile number not going through?

    Chidi: Which of his cell phone number do you have?

    Emeka: (Check his phone) 080647845....

    Chidi: That one stopped functioning long time ago, call this one 08034857646

    Emeka: Ok. (Looks around) what about your parents?

    Chidi: They all went out.

    Emeka: you people are on break?

    Chidi: Am done with my school, waiting for NYSC call up.

    Emeka: That’s good (Dials the cell phone number Chidi gave to him) yea hello guy (pause) is me Emeka where are you? (Pause) I am in your house now, (pause) alright will link up with you in few minutes, (Entered the car and drove out).

    LIGHT FADES

    ACT 1: SCENE FOUR

    The two friends are seen in the beer palour having a good time as they celebrate their reunion after so many years.

    Nelson: (Smiling) Bro Lasgidi is really doing you well.

    Emeka: Is not been easy but God has been faithful.

    Nelson: My dear he is truly ever faithful, he deserves all praise and adoration

    Emeka: Your younger brother is already a bigger boy, at first, I saw him but couldn’t recognize him

    Nelson: (smiles) so you were thinking, you left Enugu last year. My guy you left here eight good years ago.

    Emeka: And am not in any way denying that Mr. Reminder

    Nelson: Just to remind you in case you have decided to forget, (they both laugh).

    LIGHT FADES

    ACT 1: SCENE FIVE

    Mama Chidimma is seen alone in her kiosk that is located along the express road looking out for Uchenna the younger sister to Chidimma

    Mama (Soliloquizing) what is keeping this girl for Christ sake? (After waiting for so long she got tired and begged her neighbor to look after her stocks) Please my dear help me look after my shop Uchenna will soon be here am tired of waiting for her, let me rush to new market so I can be back early

    Neighbor Alright ma

    Mama Left with her purse and walkie talkie bag but she was so unfortunate not to carefully look the sideways of the express road before crossing which resulted to a fatal accident, the driver never stopped, the witness of the accident ran to her rescue. Uchenna who was almost close to the shop at
