About this ebook
A mirror devoid of meaning. Alcohol and cannabis, that's what's in my blood, when I decide it's all right. Do you see the distance between this person and I? We are two centimeters apart from each other. Everything reinforces a strong belief in reality, and yet nothing in the world confirms it. I sink. The neighbors close their doors and insult each other at home. This intimacy that people protect, as if they really exist. Why should one suffer for paradise? Why should we not eat fried food?
Marijuana for little John is an overview of my experiences with marijuana framed in a beginner's guide. I also recommend this book to parents, friends and acquaintances who are worried about John.

John always tells me that there is no harm in smoking cannabis. It is true for the moment but false the rest of the time. The purpose of this guide is to advise John of the dos and don’ts about marijuana and provide tips to get the most out of it. More specifically, it is a guide for little John, so I wrote down the basic principles of cannabis use by inhalation and the best applications of these principles accompanied by examples and anecdotes. I love my John as he is and no matter what he will do in his life, I wish him good luck.
I’ve smoked a joint whenever I wanted for almost fifteen years. A wake and bake is the act of smoking a joint straight up at the awakening. Something I rarely do. I personally think it’s important to go to the bathroom first. It does not work for me to smoke if I did not shit my first poop and emptied my bladder. Before smoking, I take the time to observe my physical condition. Today, there is something stuck in my throat deep inside my esophagus like a plastic bag caught in an air vent. I manage to clear my airways by coughing and growling a bit as if I am gurgling dry. Inside my lungs, I feel a slight burn on the front top part. The burn is in reaction to my breathing. The pain comes and goes according to the pace of each breath. I call that a morning pain and it will gradually dissipate after about thirty minutes of awake breathing or even faster by smoking my joint. Basically, the body breathes differently during sleep a bit like if it was cleaning the mess and, at morning, I take out the trash. The wake and bake for me has a perverse effect similar to the desire to drink alcohol when hangover the next morning. It gives me the feeling of getting in shape, waking up and getting back to where I was. Every morning I examine my condition. Not so much hypocritically to make me believe that I pay attention, that I am in control and that at the slightest sign I will change my habits, but to give myself the impression of cleaning my lungs by breathing hard, clearing my throat, so that the conditions are optimal for my next day of consumption. I accepted the fact that I will never be at the peak of my fitness while continuing to smoke. A healthy body is one of the first sacrifices to which all smokers must consent.
The most important thing that John needs to make sure when smoking marijuana is to stay conscious. If he is no longer aware of whom he is, John will have many opportunities to be reminded. One of the first times I smoked, the girl that was with me fainted in my arms. I panicked. At school, we had training every year on the dangers of drugs. Yet there was something bewitching in this moment of unconsciousness. This person was going to be my girlfriend for a very long time. I do not know how caring for someone while she is unconscious would be an act of seduction, but I remember naturally thinking that without marijuana, we may not have ended up together she and me. Obviously, if John happens to faint while using cannabis, I advise him to take a break and consult if necessary, but as it happened only the first time we have smoked together my girlfriend and me this situation took the form of an unforgettable moment. A small accident like this has nothing in common with the harmful effects of marijuana use. This plant can be linked to many negative human emotions. The best-known ones ranging from humiliation, anger, sadness, boredom, depression, and taboos are social distress, loss of value in the mind of people we love, their remoteness, isolation, misunderstanding as well as reality disorders. It is not so much marijuana that produces these effects, but a lack of vigilance and mental preparation from John. What is even worse is that most of the time all these emotions come together. For me, the best way to deal with these potential problems is to be aware of what I am. Marijuana reminds me that I’m so little in this world, but it’s a roundabout reminder. First, it does not remind me of anything at all, it is the fact of looking into the abyss that forces me to make a very simple choice: am I open or closed to the idea of being little like John. This does not mean that all those who consider themselves open to the world should use drugs or that the others do not consume them. The idea is that beyond our ego or even our will, we are tiny whether we like it or not. The rest is just an inner battle about whether we accept this situation. Ultimately, to accept that, in absolute terms, our actions have very little impact on the expansion of the universe and that these choices we are making or not are rather messages we leave of ourselves. Smoking a joint says as much about John as if he never decides to consume in his life. As often said, there is no smoke without fire. Is someone who is too afraid of smoking able to run a country? Does he know what to do, how to behave when his perceptions are changed? Does he have the fire? If we choose leaders who do not take risks, the result will be a stagnant society vulnerable to change. An easy target for other nations that know we never make a step. From another point of view, if a manager takes too much risk or, more specifically, if he takes bad risks, it will obviously be a disaster. It’s the same for each individual. Before doing anything, we must always ask ourselves who we are, what risks we are willing to take and for what result. So that, in the end, this result is in agreement with whom we are. Using marijuana is no more harmful than consuming alcohol, tobacco, sugar, coffee or polluted air. It is the consumer’s personality that is decisive.
So who are you? Who are you reading? I chose to write a guide because there is no rule in a guide, unlike a code. It’s harder to follow a guide. It is necessary to try to enter the spirit of the work, to reason, to draw conclusions and to keep a critical mind. A guide leaves the way open but asks John to be responsible for his actions. If there were any rules, John would only find ways to get around them, while a guide forces him to make his own rules. For a drug like marijuana that will soon be sold legally, that’s exactly what we want.
