About this ebook

The last thing she needed was to see him again after telling herself countless times that he wasn’t anything special. She’d been stupid enough to think he could be interested in her. All along he’d only wanted one thing from her. He wanted to make her another one of his conquests and she’d been gullible enough to fall for his charm.
It still hurt remembering his words after they’d shared total intimacy. He said he wasn’t ready for a relationship so she should concentrate on growing up a little. The words beat relentlessly through her mind.
The thought didn’t enter her head that he could have been right. At the time, she’d just turned nineteen and felt the need to experiment with what she thought was love. The sensation felt so exciting, she wondered now if it had actually been love, or an infatuation. She only knew the deep anguish of rejection had yet to leave her.
“Well, you’re wrong, Josh,” she finally spoke up. “Antonio and I didn’t have a relationship.” She wasn’t quite truthful, but she didn’t want Josh finding out her secrets. There had been a relationship, although it was one sided.
“That still doesn’t mean you can’t pose with him.” He watched the expressions flitting across her face.
Instead of arguing the point, Cassie glanced at Josh and said, “Are the crew showing up soon?”
“I take it there will be no more arguing about posing with Antonio,” he said before answering her question.
“No, I’ll do my job because of the contract, but don’t expect me to socialize with him.” Cassie marched off toward the car, her voluptuous frame held stiffly over the resentment that filled her. She reached up and pushed the long, shoulder-length brunette hair away from her cheek in a frustrated movement.
As she got in the car, she slipped her sunglasses over her Jade colored eyes to block out the troubling sensations showing through clearly in their depths.
“Hold up a minute,” Josh called out to her almost running to catch up.

    Chapter One

The ruins of the once beautiful castle rose majestically against the backdrop of a hazy grey sky. The lush grassy countryside surrounding the stone ruins completed the surreal picture. Standing back and looking at the scene made a person almost believe they had traveled back to some distant time. An almost medieval atmosphere surrounded the area with the mist that rose in the distance.

You don’t have a choice in the matter, Josh said, interrupting Cassie Foster’s inspection of the crumbling walls off in the distance. The castle is the location the editor chose to shoot.

I’m not making an objection about posing at the castle. I have other reasons I don’t want to do this job.

And what are they? he asked in an irritated tone. But I can almost guess.

It isn’t important. She brushed his question aside.

It has something to do with Antonio Sanchez, he said. Am I right?

Yes you’re right. It is the idea of posing with Antonio Sanchez.

Her glance took in the stubborn expression that covered Josh’s tanned face. His dark gaze held the look of resolve letting her know that she wasn’t about to get out of her contract. There wasn’t any doubt that he felt impatient with her as she watched him shoving a hand through his blond hair to push it away from his forehead.

So, what’s wrong with Antonio all of a sudden? I thought the two of you were an item just a couple of years ago. The exasperation could be heard in his voice.

Cassie clamped her lips together refusing to tell Josh Reynolds, her agent, what had taken place between them.

She could remember the time so clearly in her mind and the thoughts were still painful. When she first met Antonio, she’d felt bowled over by his Spanish charm. The man exuded sexuality by just breathing. It didn’t hurt that his frame looked muscled and strong with a dark bronzed skin coloring. His black hair and midnight
