    Stacey watched the seconds on the clock tick down from her desk while she tapped her Prada pump impatiently on the floor beneath.

    Two more minutes, and then she could escape the confines of this dull office for her lunch break. Today was Friday, which meant she’d be partaking in her usual ritual of midday margaritas at Ruby Tuesdays. It was a risky little game that she liked to play. Drinking alone in the middle of a workday before coming back to the office to get ready for the weekend.

    It might sound reckless, but Stacey figured she’d earned every one of those shots of tequila. Her office job was about as exciting as a bit of dry toast. So every week she’d made it through was a cause for celebration.

    When the minute hand finally struck twelve, she gathered up her purse and tried not to appear too giddy. She walked down the hallway, politely declining several co-workers offers of lunch. While she didn’t mind dining with them during the week on occasion, she made it a rule not to on Fridays. This time was reserved just for her.
