Shania didn’t realize he was back so soon from getting the clothing from the van. As she started to make her way into the room, the towel caught in the closed shower door ripping it off her body.

Adam glanced up and saw her standing in the lamp shade light looking all glorious and tanned. He felt his loins ache just looking at the superb beauty he was supposed to be protecting. There was something about Shania that set his pulse racing and his heart skipping a beat. He didn’t’ want to feel this way, but he couldn’t stop the strange clamoring of his insides, needing, wanting, and desiring the voluptuous beauty standing only inches from him.
He felt his mind only focusing on one thing, the need to possess Shania Cashing. This wasn’t in the deal he had made to protect her, but Adam found he had no will of his own that night in the semi-lit motel room.

Shania didn’t stop to think what she was doing. Instead, she moved quietly across the short space separating them. When Adam reached out, she went willingly into his arms. His mouth crushed hers beneath his as he pulled her pliant body into his arms. There was a hungry reaction from both Shania and Adam. There was no denying each wanted the other and nothing could stop their passionate feelings that night.
Adam lifted Shania into his arms and carried her to the bed. When he placed her on the quilt, her hair fell over the side almost reaching to the floor showing the full richness of her brunette hair.

Chapter One

The early morning sunrise looked glorious to Shania Cashing as she stood at her bedroom window with the drapes pulled back. The summer day looked like it was going to be beautiful as she moved across the room to gather her clothing. A good run would loosen her up, her thoughts were silent.

After a shower, she headed down the hallway to her mother’s room. She glanced inside and saw that it was empty. Smelling coffee, she followed the scent drifting into the hallway.

When she reached the kitchen, JoAnn glanced over her shoulder noticing Shania’s jogging clothing. You’re up early, she remarked. Alexander left this morning hitting the campaign trail since the election will be held in six months.

Oh, how long will he be gone? A feeling of relief passed through Shania hearing the news. She didn’t like her stepfather, but hid her animosity from her mother. It wouldn’t be long until she’d return to college to finish her last semester and then find a job and move.

He said it would take a month, her mother rattled on unaware of Shania’s hidden feelings. I’m sure he’ll have more campaigning later since the president called him in for a conference the other day.

How often does he interact with the president?

I think quite often since this is an election year. How letting me fix you breakfast?

Just coffee for me, Shania declined. I couldn’t run on a full stomach.

Okay dear, but when you get back I’ll cook you something.

Shania nodded blowing on the coffee to cool it. She swallowed down the liquid and placed her cup in the sink before heading for the door. See you later, she called out.

Be careful, her mother answered.

Shania was so used to her mother warning her to be careful that she didn’t give it a second thought. Closing the door and breathing in deeply, Shania headed toward the wooded trail she always used as a jogging location. Alongside the trail was frontage road, but there were seldom any cars using it.
