PROLOGUE

If you have never read the story of the prodigal son in the bible, I’ll do a quick rundown here for you to set the basis for the story you are about to read. And should you have read it before, take this as a refresher’s course.

There was this rich man who had two sons; the family was doing really well then all of a sudden, probably after a bad night, the younger of the two sons said to his father: Give me my portion of the wealth we have been able to build together. Seeing determination like he has never seen before on the son’s face and with the man actually legally entitled to his request, the father gave him what he requested for.

Straightway, the man set out to another city to have a life of his own, he was probably exposed to the kind of living he has always wanted in this new city, all he ever did was to party, game and gamble and before he could say Jack Robinson, all he had was gone. He started doing odd jobs around just to survive, unfortunately his friends who spent the money with him all had deserted him.
