Minimalism How to Live a Happier Life by Becoming a Minimalist - M.A Hill
INTRODUCTION
What is minimalism?
The first question that probably came into your mind when you read the title of this e-book was What exactly is minimalism? There is no specific definition of the word minimalism. Your definition of this word may vary from that of the person sitting right next to you.
However, there is one thing which is quite intrinsic to becoming a minimalist. This is living with only the things that you need. But you probably do need all the things that you currently have, don’t you? Or maybe not...
Just look around your own home. Do you really need all the things that surround you? How much do you use the things that you can see? Can you honestly say that you would not be able to survive if you did not have these things in your life?
When you ask yourself these questions, you realize that there are many things in your home and your life that you could live without. Of course, you like to look around at your possessions, but there are certain things in your life that you really don’t need.
Whereas the consumerism mindset says that you need to buy all the luxuries that you can afford, the minimalistic attitude advocates getting rid of the unnecessary and living life with lesser things.
These days, people believe that happiness, peace and a good life come from accumulating good things. The greater the number of your material possessions, the happier and the more satisfied you are. If you want to lead a good life, you should accumulate all the material things you can.
However, accumulating material things does not guarantee health and happiness. Joy and freedom cannot be bought at the supermarket. The sooner you learn this, the quicker will you be able to lead a happier life.
Minimalism believes that happiness does not come from material things, it does not come from expensive clothes or from luxurious hotels. In fact, happiness comes from within. It comes from your relationships; it comes from taking care of your soul; it comes from joyful experiences and moments that leave a lasting impression on the mind.
In short, minimalists believe that they can live a good life by shifting their attention from material possessions to their relationships with themselves and the people around them. Things that distract you from the important things in life should be removed. This allows you to focus your attention on the more important things in life, allowing you to feel light and free.
What is the aim of this e-book?
If you have realized that material possessions are not helping you get the happiness you want, try becoming a minimalist. If you don’t how, this e-book is going to help you do it.
As mentioned above, the meaning of minimalism can vary from one person to another, so what may be minimalism for me may not be the same for you.
However, the basic premise will always remain the same: removing
