The Liberating Fetters
()
About this ebook
As we grow up, we also grow accustomed to the world, rarely thinking or questioning what goes on and what should go on!
When a little girl grows up in the closed curtains of her home with openness of mind and heart, her questions and doubts keep the potential to scintillate thoughts of many.
It’s a poetry, a monologue of the girl with her diary, that she finds one day. The questions and the thoughts, will they bind her more or liberate?

The Liberating Fetters - Arundhati Sahoo
Prologue
A girl she is;
The centre of attraction,
Regarded as an object of exploitation,
Needs a bit of attention,
Intolerant to infatuation.
Yes, a girl that she is;
Full of emotion,
The queen of expression;
Hungry of admiration,
And devoid of pretention.
Yes, she is a girl.
Can’t tolerate under-estimation,
Needs a bit of protection,
Loves to be a possession,
Yet, needs self-identification.
Yes, a girl!!
The epitome of confusion,
Matured beyond generation;
Learning from world’s succession,
Goes on with strong determination.
Yes, a girl she is!!
Compendium of consideration,
Always against destruction,
A true humanitarian,
She is a girl, only a woman.

Mind is pensive and lips murmured in silence;
just then, a sparkling beam of light shone,
a beam enough to enlighten my moments,
showing me a way to share my emotions with someone!
Someone in that unknown unsearched corner,
from beneath the carnival of rust,
unnoticed for ages, kept neglected for eras,
a face that looked at me, smiled, being too innocent!
All those negative feelings buried deep inside,
the feelings of aggression melts, words evaporate;
being on the verge of eruption,
the volcano becomes calm and behaves quiet!
The immaculacy under that dusty atmosphere,
that captivating smile, that nested in those lips!
seeing them I forgot all my pain and exhaustion,
I forgot all my dejection taking a sip.
A sip of the coffee that is cold
and the chocolates today tasted even more chocolaty,
days await ahead unknown, unaware I am about them,
yet the sight filled me with much anxiety!
Frustrations built up in all those years, built up with dignity,
seem to grumble for they are no more there!
having lost their existence, expectant they are
to find a new nest, filled with much care!
Sips of coffee with such relaxation,
with the smile filled with care of innocence;
that kicks away all those negativities at that very moment,
those are at altitudes of arrogance!
The ship of thoughts seems to move on,
but just then at a sudden stroke;
mind swirls around with all those imaginations,
born from experiences, that it might sink!
Every moment of life brings in a new sensation,
bringing an unknown, unexpected, unsure movement;
mind never feels anymore numb, but always on the dilemma
to admire the present or to procrastinate!
But today, I have got you with all your charm,
I no more feel any scarcity of an understanding friend!
For you are there with me to listen, to hear my thoughts,
sense all my feelings and quietly comprehend!
With all my experiences till date, I know,
I can trust you, my diary, for you are a thing...
I can personify you, but not objectify people;
just can hug you while silently crying!
I am happy for I got you,
no longer do I need to murmur in silence,
but I can write, write what I feel in my gut and
mention those moments clearly, the moments I experience!
I feel relieved today, having a glance of yours,
I can’t just explain to anybody in words;
felt only, are the feelings and emotions,
no precise way there is for me, to express!
For there were lots of things to talk about,
but nobody was ever there to listen, without complaints;
they say, I think too much,
and that’s enough for them to be in solace!
But in the disguise of those, well known and
tender faces of my parents;
complicated have always been the things in my mind;
hidden are much more temperaments!
Words can’t just express, I’m unable to define!
Mind is being unable to read;
feelings that make me numb,
wondering about my role in the mid!
For just like the light and water
both eternally mingled in a silent cold war;
I feel too helpless and clueless
about whom with I
