DL Moss

Dimmie Moss is retired and living in SE Aurora, Colorado with her husband of 37 years. She writes using her experiences in the local BDSM community, where she has taught and mentored extensively. Her hope is that the accurate point of view within her fictional stories will give a more realistic look at that community than some other fiction has provided. Safety and consent are primary concerns for those who indulge in the more alternative parts of their sexuality and she tries to infuse those traits in her characters so that they might provide a good influence for those who want to explore it.

    Chapter 1 – Home Again

    Lynn sat in the cramped seat of the plane with her eyes closed, feigning sleep. She had been seated next to a very pleasant but chatty older woman and had quickly tired of making small talk with her. She wanted solitude to think. As she fingered the bracelet on her right wrist, her head was spinning with the memory of the discussion that she and Chase had the night before.

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    We have only known each other a few weeks, but I am enchanted by you. It has been a long time since anyone has piqued my interest in any significant way, but you have. I know it’s too soon to consider anything as permanent as a collar, but David’s time with me will be ending at the end of this month, and I would very much like you to consider taking a position in my house so that we can allow our relationship to continue.
    He had given her a gift, the sterling silver bracelet with a small silver heart shaped locket, engraved with the letter C and said, Consider it a token of my growing affection. I want us to give this a chance to work. We can begin as we have been this week. You can keep your job or not – as you choose. I will train you, but trust me; my intentions are not only to have a superb servant. I would like for this to end in a collar.
    ~~~~~~~~~~

    She had spent a week in his home, as his guest. David was his apprentice – a servant in training and his time had been drawing to a close when Lynn left. Chase had offered her the position as a way for her to spend time with him and give their undefined relationship a chance to grow. She had been intrigued by him since their chance meeting on another flight destined for D.C. She had spent two days attending him at an educational conference and quickly learned that he was not only a fabulous speaker and talented teacher… he was also a trustworthy Dominant who handled her lack of experience with honor and tenderness.

    The following week, he had invited her to spend some time in his home in Dallas. It had been a whirlwind of experiences. David had taken her under his wing and taught her the basics of personal service. Chase had tutored her in many subjects over leisurely breakfasts and teased her senses with his Jacuzzi and well appointed play room. She had always felt safe and cherished. The almost immediate trust that he instilled in her caused her to accept his offer of employment without much thought at all. He was so different from James, whose collar she had worn five years before. This difference is what made her want to give this relationship a chance. Her Houston based accounting firm had an office in Dallas, and as an auditor, she guessed that she could work out of their Dallas office as easily as she had from Houston.

    She was drawn back to the present as she heard the seatbelt sign bell and felt the descent of the aircraft. The next hour was spent deplaning, gathering her luggage, and taking a taxi back to her car, parked at the office complex. Another 30 minutes later, she was pulling into her apartment complex parking lot. She grabbed her cell phone, dialed her best friend Karen and said, I’m home. After a slight pause, she laughed, Of course you can come over. We’ll order pizza.

    Karen lived two doors down. They had been best friends since helping each other during the first weekend that they each lived in this mid-priced apartment complex. They could not have been less alike. Whereas Lynn was medium height with short dark hair, Karen was petite, blonde, and a bit ditzy, but had an always cheerful personality that made her fun to be around. It was Karen that had dragged her to Victoria’s Secret on a shopping trip in preparation for her week with Chase. Now, she would expect details… many, many details. So, as promised, they ordered pizza and spent the entire evening dissecting every encounter and pondering the meaning of every word and glance.

    The next day was a Sunday, and Lynn was thankful to have the day to herself. She had a lot to think about!

    Chapter 2 - A Week Later

    Lynn followed the instructions of the faceless voice that emanated from the small GPS attached to her windshield. As she made the turn, she saw the familiar sign North Haven Place. As she followed the main thoroughfare into the subdivision, she easily located the long, tree lined driveway that led to Chase’s still impressive home. She parked her white RAV4 in front of the three car garage and turned off the key. She took a deep breath. Now that she was here, she was suddenly nervous again.

    The past week had been a whirlwind of activity. Her previous assumption that she would be able to transfer to the Dallas office had proved to be unrealistic optimism on her part. Although her boss had understood her decision to move, he could not secure her a position there. He did, however, repeat that she had been an excellent employee and that he hoped she would consider returning if things did not work out as she hoped.

    So here she was… taking a huge leap of faith by leaving her home town, packing everything she owned and driving the three and a half hours to begin this new chapter of her life. Karen had been incredulous that she would make such a move after knowing Chase for only a little more than a week, but in the end she had been very helpful with packing her things and cleaning her apartment. Thankfully, she had been on a month-to-month lease so all that was required was to notify her landlord that she was leaving and forfeit her deposit in lieu of the 30 day notice. A couple of ads on the internet had been the fastest way to dispose of the few pieces of furniture she owned and Karen agreed to take what food remained in her refrigerator and cabinets. She had emailed Chase to let him know that she would be driving up on Saturday. Now, suddenly time stood still as she thought about the magnitude of her decision. A momentary paralysis had taken possession of her body and she literally could not move. Thankfully, a few minutes later, the front door opened and David came rushing out to meet her. He jerked open the driver’s door and flashed a brilliant smile.

    Lynn! It’s so good to see you again! Why are you still sitting in that hot car? Come in and let me get you a glass of iced tea – I’ll see to your bags after you’ve cooled off.

    She was glad that he greeted her as a friend; she remembered how much difficulty he had with calling her by her first name instead of the Ma’am. She wiped her damp palms on the bright purple shorts that she wore; a concession to the still hot October weather. She extended her hand and let David pull her into a warm hug. It was obvious that he was truly glad to see her, because he would never have acted so out of character otherwise.

    David was in his mid twenties, dark and attractive, and dressed similarly in jean shorts and a white tshirt. He still wore the simple chain and dog tags around his neck – a symbol of his service to the House.

    It’s great to see you again too. She followed him up the flagstone walk and into the sprawling ranch style home. It was as beautiful as she remembered, with warm earth tones and a large country kitchen. Lynn chose a bar stool at the center island and watched as David filled two glasses with ice and poured iced tea from a large pitcher.

    Can I get you something to eat? he inquired but she quickly answered, No… thanks. I’m more thirsty than hungry right now. The iced tea is perfect. Sit with me and tell me what is happening in your life. I feel like I’ve been gone for months!

    David laughed and patted her hand. I’ve missed you. I’m so happy to see you again. He went on to tell her about his new position with a local Master that he had known for a while. I’ll be his first live in servant in quite a few years. He’s had a job that required him to travel most of the time and only recently secured a long term assignment that will allow him to spend more time in Dallas. He’s decided that it is time to make more of a home and wanted someone who was capable of producing high protocol dinners, which is his preference.

    Well, you can certainly do that! Lynn exclaimed. I have told my friend Karen about the dinner you allowed me to help with, and how elegant it all was.

    David blushed slightly and seemed uncomfortable with the compliment. He deferred the attention by asking, But, what about you? When Master Chase told me that you would be taking over, I was delighted… but so soon? However did you manage everything so quickly?

    Lynn sighed, It didn’t go exactly as I had planned, but in the long run it’s probably best that I don’t have to worry about how to fit in business trips with my new responsibilities. I just hope I can be half as efficient as you’ve been. How long before you desert me entirely?

    I’ll be here another week. That will give you time to get settled in and you can always call or text me if you should ever have a question about anything at all.

    Lynn giggled, I can see it now… you’ll get a text saying ‘help – 911… Lynn’. You’ll be sorry you offered.

    Never! David stood. Stay here and finish your drink. I’ll get your suitcases and put them in your room.

    "Just the two in the back seat. Leave the boxes in the back for later. They’re heavy – books and computer stuff mostly.

    David nodded and scurried out the front door. Lynn stood, picked up her iced tea and walked to the doors at the back of the kitchen. The back yard was as peaceful as she remembered. Sliding glass doors opened to a stone covered patio that ran the length of the back of the house. A Jacuzzi occupied the center with two more sets of patio doors allowing access from both master bedrooms, hers being the one at the far end. David’s room was across the hall with an unoccupied guest room next to it. A hallway led toward the front of the house, where Chase had a private play room. She blushed as she remembered what had happened in that room during her visit. The next door was a huge den, one wall covered with built-in bookcases. The cabinets at the bottom were closed but all the bookcases above were open and contained his vast library of books. The living room was off the entryway and had bay windows that mirrored those in the formal dining room, on the opposite side of the entryway. There was an archway between the dining room and kitchen to allow for easy service, and a heavy curtain that could be drawn during dinner to insulate the diners from the noise of the kitchen. The formal dinner that she referred to had been a high protocol affair for five of Chase’s friends and their slaves. David had tutored her in the preparation and service required for such an event, and she was very glad she had taken copious notes; she was sure she would need them.

    Your bags are on the bed. Would you like the boxes deposited in your room or would you prefer to store them in the garage for now?

    Oh… could I? It would be much easier to be able to unpack them when I have a better idea about where things should go.

    Of course. There are cabinets along the back of the garage and several are empty. Come. I’ll show you.

    Lynn followed him down the hall and through the door that led to the garage. The Lexus was missing, but the midnight blue ‘65 Ford Mustang Fastback, Chase’s favorite, sat in the middle space. She smiled, remembering his pride when he told her he had restored it himself. He hit the garage door opener as they exited the house, and the larger double door opened. He walked to a large white cabinet and opened the door, showing her four deep shelves; more than enough to store the half dozen boxes she had brought. Together, they moved the rest of her things into the cabinets.

    Would you like to put your car inside? I can move my jeep to make room.

    Oh no… please don’t bother. Just tell me where I should park so it’s not in the way. David directed her to park next to the garage. There was a tree shaded guest parking space that she had not previously noticed. She quickly moved the RAV4 and followed David back through the garage and into the house.

    He stopped at the door to her bedroom. Would you care to take an hour and unpack? It’s noon now. Would lunch at 1:00 be acceptable?

    Lynn hugged him again and assured him that would be plenty of time. She had noticed the change in his manner of speech. Gone was the casual friendly banter; he was once again the perfect servant. Would she ever be able to do that as seamlessly as he appeared to be able to? With that subtle partial bow that she envied, he walked away and she turned to tackle the job ahead of her. As she looked at the beautiful room, she once again had the feeling that she had stepped into a fairly tale. The queen size bed with matching night tables and dresser left a clear view through to the patio and yard. The room was decorated in soft pastels, complemented by matching colors in the private bath. Sunlight streamed in through the sliding glass doors, offering a stunning view of the back yard and glass top table and chairs on the patio.

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    Lunch was typical of David’s style; a wonderful selection of meats, cheeses, crackers and fruit. Thank you so much for lunch. If you have no objection, I’ll take the time to freshen up a bit.
    David began clearing the lunch dishes and answered her quickly, Oh yes, of course… please make yourself at home. Let me know if there is anything you need. Master Chase should be home by 3pm.
    Lynn nodded and slid off the barstool. Chase had explained his schedule, now that he was no longer on vacation. He worked bankers’ hours; Monday through Friday, 9-5 but with more flexibility than most people had, since he could work from home when it suited him. She remembered the desk in the den and could imagine what those days might be like; serving him lunch and enjoying a mid day break with him.
    She felt very comfortable here in his home, and spent the next hour bringing in most of the boxes from the garage, organizing her things and moving some of her books and journals to the bookcases that lined one well. She looked around the bedroom, more at home with her books around her. The next order of business was a nice soothing bubble bath. This bathroom was more opulent than anything she had at home and she sighed deeply as she slid into the hot jasmine scented water. Reaching for a book, she felt the stress of the morning fade away as she immersed herself in the story. After about 45 minutes, he water had become cool, so she set the book aside and pushed the drain release with her foot. As the water drained from the tub, she turned on the shower and quickly washed her
