Introduction

This book is not about magic! Though my hope is to Make America DR3AM Again, this book has nothing to do with the current President. Although I speak of Fantasy Land, this is not a book about some far-off, enchanted kingdom full of fairies and unicorns. You may be asking yourself at this point, what exactly is this book about? This book is about YOU and YOUR DR3AMS! Fantasy is Reality. This isn’t some cliché catchphrase, it’s a real and attainable goal, but there lies a vast difference between knowing something as true in your heart and living it in actual life. To experience the reality of your fantasy, you must first believe in the possibility of it and persevere through the obstacles standing in your way. That is the goal of the Live in Fantasy Land Movement, to get you through the process of living your DR3AMS. As you begin reading this book, be prepared to be inspired to follow and achieve your DR3AMS like never before.

In a world full of opportunity, we somehow still find ourselves lost in the fear of rejection. We let our environment influence what our minds believe and once that starts to set in, we begin to think we are only defined by our past or current circumstances. The result of that mindset is internal rejection. You might think to yourself that rejection hasn’t affected you or your life, but unless you’re currently living in your fantasy, I can guarantee to you that it has. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where someone pays you a compliment and your first thought is, what’s so good about me? How many opportunities have you not pursued? How many things have you not done because you were worried about the response you might get? How many business ideas did you not act on? How many people have you wanted to get to know that you didn’t speak or even introduce yourself to? How much time have you wasted being complacent? How many relationships have you stayed in that you knew weren’t good for you or are you in one now? Maybe you have pursued your dreams, but for some reason you continuously fail. Rejection rather internal or external is such a powerful force that it prevents people from living up to their full potential without them even knowing it. I call this Living in Rejection, or what some may refer to as reality.

The common form of reality is internal rejection. It is a choice to pursue mediocrity or less because of the internal assumption that nothing more can be accomplished. You know, the choice to jump three steps when you can really jump five or ten, if you push yourself. Too many times we live life only jumping three steps or not jumping at all. The result is a mass of people living unfulfilled lives at their own will. It has gotten to the point that culturally we start celebrating mediocrity and loathing greatness because it seems unattainable. That is how I came up with the title of the fantasy land movement. A good friend of mine accused me of living in fantasy land for desiring things that I felt were attainable. He disagreed, however, with the right mindset I argue that anything is potentially attainable.

As I began my journey with fantasy land, it became clear that there are many who suffer from a lack of fulfillment. People from all walks of life; be it by age, demographic, class, social status, or financial standing; have seemingly lost the ability to DR3AM. DR3AMS became fantasies that were considered unobtainable, causing people to stop reaching for their goals and to pass judgment on those with the courage to try. I grew tired of all the negativity I received when I professed my DR3AMS to others. I couldn’t understand why people did not believe I was capable of pursuing my DR3AM of becoming a successful entrepreneur and had to continuously reassure myself that the idea was not so farfetched. EVERY SINGLE BUSINESS that has ever been created, was first started by a person with an idea. So why was it then that people seemed so hell-bent on telling me that I couldn’t? Why would I replay scenes from my life of rejection and negativity, allowing them to limit what I thought I could achieve? Why did I continue to listen to people who were simply afraid of following their own DR3AMS? With that affirmation in mind, I birthed the Live in Fantasy Land movement.

Live in Fantasy Land

Fantasy Land, isn’t a place, it’s a mind-set. It starts with a DR3AM or a goal or a fantasy, whatever you choose to call it; an idea that you would like to bring to the world. You determine all the necessary steps to take to make it a reality; then you need to live it. In Fantasy Land, you are your DR3AM. You no longer think of yourself anywhere but in your DR3AM. You eat, sleep, breath and work to bring your DR3AM to life. You work so that the value of your DR3AM will be shared by others so that they too can live within it. The concept might sound crazy at first, or delusional, or idealistic but I see it as determination. Determination to see your DR3AMS come true; determination to prove others wrong; determination to truly live your life; because people don’t Live in Fantasy Land after they have realized their DR3AMS, they Live in Fantasy Land to realize their DR3AMS.

We see people with financial blessings and often wish for a life like theirs. We wonder what is holding us back from receiving similar blessings in our lives. Although, Fantasy Land is not about coveting material wealth, but rather, how to grow independent so you too may receive the blessings of the fruits of your labor. These financial blessings are gifts from those whom your idea brings value to; an exchange for solving their problems or otherwise making their lives better through your vision. To bring them this vision, however, you must first overcome the fear of rejection that prevents you from bringing your fantasy to fruition. At my previous employment at a federal agency I sometimes taught a class on customer service. I frequently had employees complain to me that there was no better way for them to serve their customers. Due to barriers that existed, there was nothing they could do and that’s just the way it is. I begged the question, why have you accepted that reality? It is important to answer this question; because to Live in Fantasy Land, you must first understand why you don’t live there now.

Fantasy Land is for anyone who wishes to accomplish something bigger in life; for those whom wish to live life with purpose. For me, Fantasy Land is an escape from the doubt and negativity that would attempt to hinder me from reaching my full potential. Ask anyone who has accomplished something great in life. They will tell you a story of triumph, of overcoming boundaries, and of beating the odds to achieve success. Anyone who dares to DR3AM big, who has ever been doubted or rejected, or is called for a greater purpose, Fantasy Land is for you.

If you’re ready to live in your fantasy, to stop doubting yourself, to no longer fear rejection, and to make a positive difference in your life and the lives of others, this book is for you. The moment you decide to act on something that has the potential to make a great impact on your life and the world, is the moment that rejection works the hardest. That is also the moment that you need to Live in Fantasy Land, not only to protect yourself against negativity and rejection but to defeat it. Become one with your vision; kill rejection with the confidence of greatness; I’ll show you the way. Whether you are starting a new business, going to medical school, preparing to take on a leadership role, or aspiring to just make a positive change in your life, this book will help guide you to defeat the voice in your head telling you, "you can’t", as well as all the other rejections that’ll come your way. It is a part of my purpose in life to show you that you can, and I’ll help you get there. The 3 in DR3AM

The 3 in DR3AM isn’t for graphics. It isn’t a secret meaning. It isn’t for anything other than positioning God in the center of your DR3AMS. This meaning may change depending on where you are in the process of pursuing your DR3AMS. However, the main meaning of the 3 in DR3AM is the father, son and the holy spirit. This is essential in the beginning of your journey. It is the moment you decide to pursue your destiny and realize that to get there you must be aligned with God. It is essential in the middle of your journey as you are going through the process and are enlightened to Gods activity in your life. It is also essential in the end, when you are transformed and begin the phase of realizing your DR3AMS.

Think of it this way. There’s two men pursuing a goal. They both work harder than anyone else, they both make it to the top and must compete. They both have equal skills, knowledge and abilities. However, one of them also has the power of God with him. Who wins? Too often we live our lives only doing things that we can accomplish. What if I told you, you could accomplish more than you ever imagined and that it’s a life that you cannot build on your own. I am not minimizing the things that we can do on our own. I am only saying that with God, we can accomplish and do much more.

If you truly believe in God, you should believe in her Power. You should also believe that through the power of God you can accomplish all things. With that mindset, you should understand that the journey of pursuing big DR3AMS is spiritual. Your DR3AMS are connected to your purpose; and your purpose is your reason for existence; given to you by the creator. The creator is connected to your spirit ergo making the process of pursuing your DR3AMS a spiritual journey. Anything less is settling for a less desirable life. Screw mediocrity, screw human abilities, live in Godspeed. Accomplish BIG DR3AMS! Live in Fantasy Land!

GOD

In this book, I may refer to God with the pronoun He or She. Please, do not let this deter you. I do not believe in placing human characteristics or cultural implications on God. However, I do believe that regardless of what we have been taught, there is the possibility that if we did place those implications, that God is woman. I also argue that it does not matter either way. When I occasionally use the term She in reference to God, that is my reason. God is God and She is truth. Do not be offended or detracted from a book that will help you achieve your destiny all for the sake of diction.

Secondly, God revealed herself to me in my Christian faith and I know Jesus is real and is the blueprint to how we should live our lives. However, if you are not a Christian, focus less on the differences of our religions and more on the example set forth for all of us. Instead of focusing on things that do not matter, just follow God with all your life and heart, and let God reveal herself to you, regardless of your religion. The universal principles taught in this book applies to all, hence the universal implication. Tailor the principles and practices to your faith, denomination and or religion.

Lastly, while we are all classified by our physical differences in the world, we are not classified by those differences in the spirit. I imagine that God doesn’t focus on our physical differences but our spirit. With that being said, the journey of pursuing DR3AMS isn’t exclusive to any demographic or religion. It is an inclusive pursuit of greatness. That includes anyone who desires to accomplish God sized DR3AMS; and anyone who desires freedom. Not to mention, including anyone who desires an intimate relationship with God.

The Process

In the pursuit of your DR3AMS, you will encounter tests, trials and tribulations. This phase of greatness is often referred to as the process. It is a series of events and actions that work together to make you great. The beginning of the process hits you before you are aware of what’s happening. By the end, you will be transformed into a better person; equipping you to be able to accomplish your DR3AMS more efficiently. When I mention the process, I am referring to the process of being transformed, pursuing DR3AMS or a combination of both.

There is a painful aspect of the process. It entails lessons, tests and corrections. Everyone is different, so tests and corrections will differ from person to person. However, the universal qualities of the process will remain unchanged. You will be broken down to be rebuilt in a better way. You should expect a shift in your character, life, and faith. To get there, you should expect some pain, sacrifice and obedience.

Everything you go through is for a purpose. A purpose that is connected to your DR3AM. For example, I built a life for myself that could’ve made my transition to the fantasy life easier. However, I had to go through everything that the potential followers of the fantasy land movement will go through. It is a learn by doing Socratic method between you and God. There will be a spiritual exploration of your underlying beliefs that shapes your decisions and actions. After you go through it, you not only know the answer you become the answer.

DR3AM Principles

There are twelve principles to live by in the pursuit of following your DR3AMS. They are, pour into yourself, remove yourself from all negativity, follow Gods guidance, focus on your vision, believe, be graceful, be obedient, persevere, be resilient, be of service to all, stay in the light, and worship God. Taken together, the twelve DR3AM principles makes your transition into purpose more efficient. Without them you’re left with mediocrity and mere existence instead of truly living. Fantasy life is a natural response to the implementation of these principles.

Implementation of the principles in your life should result in a shift in who you are as a person; and a shift in your beliefs. Your actions will show proof of that. For example, a couple of those actions include sacrificing, and displays of impeccable faith. It is proof that on this journey with God, you can be trusted. In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead (James 2:17). The same applies to the principles; knowledge of the principles without application to your life will also deem them dead.
