    About Me

So Who is Gonna Tell Me?

I wake up in the morning and I wonder who I am…

No, that is not me speaking; it is a line from Battlestar Galactica. It is a TV series that I had never even heard of, but the love of my life (Tloml) is a fan so here I am watching it and writing this as well. In the programme, one of the actors is beginning to realise she is not who she thought she was; She may well be one of the monsters! The line resonated with me as I sometimes feel a bit like that first thing in the morning, especially if it has been one of those nights where H, the baby princess, wakes a few more times than normal and I have only had about 4 or less hours sleep and not even consecutively.

Aaanyway, bringing it back to the subject of the post, ever since I was a little girl, I have been trained to be obedient, to follow instructions, to work hard at school, at university and finally I took this attitude to work. I very proudly and obediently completed my studies then completed my internship and finally registered as a Pharmacist – A very noble and well-paying profession. In theory, I am made. I have a great stable profession and pharmacy is pretty convenient for women, particularly when children are added to the mix.

The only problem is that, somewhere inside, I am and have always been the rebellious kind. I want more! Deep down, I want to be the captain of my ship, the mistress of my own destiny. I want to have my cake and I want to eat it. All great sounding (or funny!!!), Right? However… I am also somewhat scared but that is the subject of another post.

The thing is, for all my lofty sounding words, I realise, usually about 3pm or so, that I am soooo used to having people tell me what to do that now, on my own, I am not sure what action I need to take. My head is buzzing with ideas of all the things I need to do but this Mumpreneurship is like a whole other animal. I am out here on my own. Ok, so not literally, as Tloml –The Love Of My Life - is doing his best to support me, but we both acknowledge that this is more my thing.

So, usually at this time (3pm-ish), I have cleaned the house (maybe), read to the children, played with them, fed them and so on. All the while with ‘things to do’ going through my head. Unfortunately, there is no coherence to my ideas so putting them into action is somewhat difficult.

So who is going to tell me what to do?

    No – one I guess.

    • I better get planning?!

    • Or taking action?

    • Or putting my ideas down in writing?

    • Or maybe I should ask someone?

    • Or… Any ideas, anyone?

    _________________________________________________

Have you ever felt like that?

You really want to start something new, but this is the first time you have started anything all by yourself. Yes, you may have a supportive partner or children but actually, you still feel so ALONE! It all hangs on you to make this dream a reality. The initial excitement is wearing thin.

What are you going to do?

People have been known to wake up in a cold sweat just thinking about it. Well, you are reading the right book and you are the reason I am putting this together. No, it will not give you all the nitty, gritty answers about what to do to start your own business concern. Watch out for more detailed material on http://www.Mum-in-Business.com for that. There are millions of books for that reason and I have probably read them all in the quest to delay the inevitable beginning of my own business. Do not fall into that trap.

NO!, I am not saying that knowing some of this stuff is not great. OF course it is! However, right now, YOU just need to get a move on.

Step out in faith knowing that you and everyone in the world knows the basics of business –

Buy LOW, sell HIGH! Simple! And it works for products or services.

As you start to do that, the rest of the stuff you need to know will present itself and you can deal with it as you go, or pay someone else to do it for you. Yes, they may moan about your paperwork being atrocious, blah, blah, blah… So What?

    YOU DID IT!

This is, in part, the story of my journey to financial freedom with three preschool princesses in tow. More than that, this book will give you the courage to do it yourself as well.

And that, certainly, is the POINT!

Again and Again – What to do when you hate to sell.

Life recently has been … continuous.

I wake up, I pray, I feel afraid, I pray some more, I wish I could go back to the days when I just did not think about changing my world but there is no return so I whisper another quick prayer. Onwards I plod and try not to give in to my need to live a nice, peaceful, passive life. I get up out of bed and take myself downstairs, stick on an exercise DVD and punish train myself.

I get the children dressed and fed, play/read/hang out/educate them and then I take out my list of things to do to further the business.

One half of my brain is yelling ‘what on earth are you doing? You cannot do this!’ But now a voice which was very little but is getting louder and
