About this ebook

I make no secret of the fact that the title of this book was inspired by the title of another book – Chicken Soup for the Soul.
The corporate world can be a soulless place and in sharing this collection of quotations with my sometimes caustic, sometimes corny comments I'm hoping you'll enjoy the occasional chuckle.
As a reader of this book you're entitled to know where I am coming from. Therefore you should know that after a 28-year absence from the corporate culture. I was once again working in the corporate scene.
During these 28 years, man had gone to the Moon, the Berlin Wall was torn down and Britain experienced its first female Prime Minister. And yet nothing had really changed in the corporate culture except that the corporate climbers were using new clichés.

    Introduction

Sam Goldwyn is alleged to have said, Let's have some new clichés, and the climbers knew they had to use clichés such as Empowerment and Putting a stake in the ground to show his or her leadership qualities. Having decided to adhere to their Stick to their knitting strategy.

Brainstorming had become ideation. The way ahead was replaced with the gung ho of Going forward and Human Resources had become Human Capital which sounded to me like human cattle.

The following is my most sincere greeting and is not used as another example of an insincere current cliché.

    Enjoy!
