About this ebook
Rowan Payne and Ash Challis have been together for years, ever since romance quickly bloomed between them when they met as teenagers. Despite a few obstacles early in their relationship that threatened to ruin their love, they managed to overcome them, their relationship stronger in the end for the struggles, and now, fourteen years later, they live together in their own home and share the responsibilities running a small bakery they jointly own. They love each other and love their business, baking a shared passion, and neither could ask for more.
However, when Rowan's sister tells him she's getting married, he volunteers his and Ash's services for the engagement party, leading to unforeseen consequences. One thing Rowan forgot when he made the offer was how much of a perfectionist he can be. He won't rest until his little sister has the perfect cupcakes, even if the stress of planning alone might be enough to turn him grey. Luckily, Rowan has a very understanding partner, one who knows how to calm him down when he's obsessing and how to distract him from anything, even baking, when it's causing him stress. Because the only thing that Rowan loves more than baking is Ash.

High-school relationships usually don't last past graduation, and even if they do, they last maybe a month before the couple decides that long distance doesn't work, or that they want to experience college single. It wasn't like that for Luke and Dan, though. They met in middle school and started dating just before their senior year of high school. They went to the same college, not wanting to be separated, and they had stayed together all through college. Once they graduated, they moved in together. While it wasn't quite a fairy tale, because they had had their ups and downs like any couple, they were happy, living together in a nice apartment in New York, neither of them having a long commute to work.
Work happens to be their problem recently, though. They're both thirty and doing pretty well in their careers. Luke is working at an advertising firm, using his gift for art and head for business to rise through the ranks. He loves his job, but the hours can be hell, not just because of time spent in the office, but also for the time spent out of it wooing clients when he would rather be at home with his partner. Dan—beautiful, carefree Dan, tall and slim just like he was in high school—has hardly seemed to change over the years, his sandy blond hair still a mess and his blue eyes still sparkling, despite the often high stress levels involved with being a human rights lawyer.
Weekends are less busy, but the very worst times are Mondays, like today, when every client who has had time to think of a problem over the weekend calls
