    Introduction

    Benefits having your own business

    Family

Whether you are doing this to support your family or be with your family, working and getting them involved in activities for your promotions can also bring your family closer as a unit and create independence and creativity for your little ones.

Here’s an example of one of our members back stories. Our member, Melanie loves to knit, crochet and create patterns, so her business is selling her creations and writing books of her patterns. Her daughter Abby, eight years old, loves to take pictures and scrapbook. Although they have two different niches, they still work together. Melanie writes her patterns out. Then Abby takes pictures of her creations in different poses and scenes and then creates fun patterns for her pattern books. When completed, the book is beautiful and both their names are in the credits. When a book is sold, Melanie gives her daughter a percent of the sales for using her graphics. The book alone will bring traffic to both parties with the credits. It’s a great way to work together, and still do something you like, no matter how different your niche is.

Even if you work alone in your business, think of all the sports events, family functions, family time and more you could work around and be there for the important things in life and you’re family will never have to hear, you can’t make it because you had to work! As mentioned before, you can even get your family involved in-group projects, fundraisers or get them going in their own direction of success!

    Setting your own hours

You can work around everyone else’s schedule, set a side time just for your business, give yourself holidays off weekends off, it’s your time. Manage it to you!

Be as successful as you want.

Really. It depends on you. If you want a part time income, full time income, six-figure income, it’s really up to you on your efforts. You can choose to do it all on your own for your family, yourself, or get more family involved, spending time, and making money together. We provide a lot of resources and avenues for exchanging advice and techniques, but we also recommend you to ask around, get different perspectives if you need it.

    You are your own boss

Enough said. Sounds like a sales pitch but… it’s true. If you are tired of selling the same thing, change it, if you want to work with a new material, go for it. There is no more boss looking over your shoulder, telling you what to do, how to dress, or what product you are selling. It’s all up to you!

    Benefits of Handmade Business

Making what you want and enjoying what you do

Enjoy the things you make, get inspired, expand, condense, whatever you want to do. You don’t have to make or sell things you don’t want to. Your product or services are all about you and sharing that part of you to fit the needs and wants of others. No need to purchase finished product for your inventory, when you are making it yourself. You just need to focus on getting supplies

    Inventory

Your inventory is completely your design. No worries on if your third party company no longer carries that specific item your customer wants. Supplies and raw materials are so easy to shop for rather than finished product. Besides, you can make it on the spot providing an extra bit of customer service that other competitors may not offer. You can even offer customizations with your merchandise if requested. Customizations, we’ll get more in depth later.

    Travel Opportunity

With a handmade business, there is always room for travel. You can travel as far as you want or stay close to home. Events like craft fairs and educational classes and more, gives you not only the opportunity to expose your business goods but allows you and your family to go places. Plan a vacation around your craft fair days if you want.

    Course Objective

    Brain Storming

Let’s get started with the all-important thought process, in this section go ahead and print out the notes paper or grab some regular paper or a notebook. This is a very important step. Even if you know
