I had an exciting career in communications with the National Security Agency in Maryland. Retired in San Antonio TX, now I travel and write fiction. My work has appeared in magazines, an anthology, and on internet sites. I've written five volumes of short stories dealing with the gay experience. HEIGHTS OF PASSION (2009), OUT OF THE BOX (2010), DISCOVERY OF FIRE (2011), LOVE WANTED, WILL TRAVEL (2012) and STILL YOUNG (2018). These are realistic stories, not intended as erotic fiction but listed under that heading because of their honesty. Sex happens because it's part of the plot, just as sex drives our lives. In 2019, I collaborated with a longtime Dutch friend, Jaap Cové, to produce REMEMBERED PLACES (2020). We had traveled the world in our full lives and certain stories recall their foreign, or local, settings. The longest tale is the true story of the man who gave the gay world The Spartacus Guide and the tortuous path he took rising to success only to tumble ignominiously from the heights.I used my life experiences in a series of novels. A COMPLEMENT OF LOVERS, published in 2013, is a full-length novel that describes the romance of a young couple, Meg and Rodney, who try to make their own rules for living, but come into conflict with the conventional thinking of the 60s. THE ROAD TO FRANKFURT (2014) continues their struggle to adapt while maintaining their individuality. UNCOUPLED, the third novel in the series, was published by Smashwords in August 2015. It follows Meg and Rod through the mid-70s. The fourth in the series, NEVER PROMISE FOREVER was published in 2016. In CUSPS, volume 5 published 2018, Rodney accepts that he is gay, while his daughters are becoming young women, and the family must adjust to a new reality. I'm currently at work on the final volume in the series. Rod begins an open, live-in relationship, hoping that his daughters can adapt to two dads.I hold degrees from Columbia University in both Arts and Engineering, and an Arts degree from Loyola University.

Captain Albert Peregrine, US Army Medical Corps, crooked his elbows behind his back and grabbed the edge of the concrete coping of the pool so he could pull himself up and out of the water. His cock flipped up, sending droplets flying, before settling back between his legs as the Captain’s bare rump landed squarely on the pool surround.

A good-looking older man with a full chest of white, matted hair, almost more than was on his head, waded toward him nipple-deep in the water.

Where’d you ever get a name like that? Albert asked.

Stillman Young? Easy. A fellow named Al Stillman gave my father a job during the depression. That made it possible for him to keep his head above water in hard times, and to marry and raise a family. So when I came along in 1934, my parents named me in honor of their benefactor.

It’s certainly appropriate today. You don’t look anything like a seventy-seven year old. Did kids make fun of your name in grade school?

Not at all. In those days, people said my names without hooking them together. It was only after my pictures began to appear on the Internet that the name took on a new meaning.

There must be dozens of pages full of pictures of you, all titled Still Young. I fell in love with the first photo I saw ten years ago. I had no idea there were good-looking older men in the world that were gay. It was several years later that I realized it was your name, not a description of how you looked. But even then, I assumed it was an alias. I didn’t know until today that it was your real name.

Still placed a hand on each of the Captain’s hairy thighs. And would you believe I never posted a picture of myself on the net?

So how’d so many get there? There must be over a hundred.

Closer to two hundred. In my fifties and sixties, men wanted to photograph me. They swore they would never post them, but they couldn't resist sending them to friends. ‘Look who I met; I’ve been with this guy.’ And their friends were under no obligation, so they posted the fotos on the first site they came to. In those days, there were sites that charged users new uploads to look at the pictures already on the site. The more pics you uploaded, the more pics you could see or download. From there it spread like wildfire.

I’m glad I mustered the courage to write you. It was daunting; I mean, you’re a celebrity of sorts. What a thrill. What a memory. This will hold me for my next celibate year in Afghanistan.

But isn’t that old-think? I thought gays could serve openly in the military now.

The rules say you can, but the practicality is another matter. I’m out on mission two to three weeks at a time, sometimes by myself, sometimes with another doctor. I don’t want men I have to treat, men whose lives depend on me, whispering behind my back or, worse, fearing to drop their drawers for an examination because they know I’m gay.

But the law is on your side.

The Army put me through medical school and I have an active duty commitment to them. I’m not about to screw up my contract because some redneck Iowa farm boy isn’t current with the latest mood swing in Congress. It’s easier to stay in the closet for two more years, and then I’ll return stateside and be able to come out without any fuss. Spending this day with you will go a long way to getting me through.

I’m happy to do something for our boys in the service. I’m sorry you didn’t email me earlier.

My bad. The army sent me here for two-weeks training and it took almost the whole time to get up the courage to write.

Still spread the Captain’s knees apart and moved forward, lowering himself into the water far enough to trap Albert Peregrine’s rigid erection in his mouth.

Albert threw his head back and exhaled loudly. Aaaagh. That’s what I mean. I’ll replay today in my mind a thousand times while I’m overseas. Are you always so nice to guys who contact you?

Still spoke as he lapped at Albert’s cockhead. No. As you might imagine, I’ve been approached over the past twenty years by a lot of men, but something has to be different about them—strike a chord somewhere—before I’ll meet a guy or let a relationship develop.

He paused to tease the Captain. With you, it was the plea to have sex before you returned overseas. That was new; I couldn't resist.

You must have a million tales like that to tell.

Still resumed his stimulation of Albert’s shaft. Not a million I guess, but… How’s that feel, Albert?…surely more than a hundred. Lie back, close your eyes. Let me give a military man some pleasure.

Not on your life. I want to watch. No one has ever played with me so artfully before. Might I hear some of those stories?

How much time do you have?

About seven hours. I have to be at the airport at ten p.m.

I think I could dredge up a tale or two in that time. But it’s difficult to talk with a cock in my mouth. How about you climax, and we’ll go to dinner?

No way. I want to stay fully loaded while you tell me your stories. After dinner, we can get back in the pool and pull the trigger.

You’re on. Whatever you want is yours tonight. My objective is to service a serviceman.

Still stepped from the water and, while drying off, thought about where he might start.

I know, he said, holding an index finger aloft. If I were Sherlock Holmes’ Dr. Watson, I’d probably title this story, The Case of the Melted Lover."

    The Melted Lover

Ten years ago, I was having heated conversations on the Internet with two very different men that wanted to meet me. One was a 6’2" fellow of fifty who weighed 360 pounds. His name was Gary and he had fallen in lust with me while collecting those same pictures on the
