The Lighthouse at the Edge of the Drifting Sea - Richard J Chalmers
The Lighthouse
Let me be your lighthouse
The beacon to bring you hope
The thing to guide you home
A place to feel safe
I will steer you away from rough waters
Help you see the silver lining
I will make you feel watched and protected
Secured in your comfort
Let you drift to where you wish
Allow you to make your own course
Allow you to make your own path
Steer straight to where you need to be
You might be drifting but I know you’re not far away
Count on the warm light
Count on someone being there
If you sail on by me
Be aware of the dangers
The rocks and low tides of life
I will watch the pieces of you
Crashed on the beaches
All that you had built
Laid to ruin by decisions of ignorance
It is us together that brings safety
It brings a comfort
It brings a future
I am the lighthouse
Let me be your beacon of hope
Command
Stop
Breathe
Think
Walk
Talk
Believe
Blindly
Follow
Command
Through the Eyes
A virgin's eyes see a pure world
A scorned soul doesn't care
A killer hunts and kills their prey
It's just instinct to run away
Time has passed, it doesn't matter
No one has anywhere to go
Drop a wish into the well
Enclosed in a tiny cell
Burning flesh, burning soul
Melting pot, melting coal
Dancing fire, dancing soul
Sacred sky, sacred pyre
False ego, false desire
Anointed one, appointed one
Wicked sinner, wicked liar
Soar up, soar down
Broken arrow, broken heart
Unfilled hope, unfilled faith
I have nothing to say
Nothing to do
Nothing to think
Empty ... As usual
Wait, hope, dream
I wish I could sleep
But if I could would I wake up?
Never escaping
I feel safe in my womb
Use the words
Use the hate
They've been misused
Taken out of context
Did you read between the lines?
See it from a different angle
A different light
Maybe from a higher sight
Third eyes are made to be grown
Cry salt water tears
Drowned in the pools of fears
Leveled and severed
My mind feels like leather
Worn with age
Was I ready for this stage?
Has Nothing Come from Something
Whatever was will never be
What comes from nothing, does not exist
What comes from me, does not exist
What comes from you, will always be
Always be
Me
Hope? Just a joke
Which is shared by billions
Laughing at me in its own way
Mortality means nothing to them
I'm laughing inside
