About this ebook

Dylan Hughes owns a small bakery. He's doing what he loves and business is good, but he's lonely. After a bad relationship, he's been keeping to himself, and things are worse during the Christmas season. Then there is his unrequited crush on Aaron Tyler.

Aaron is a successful event planner. He and Dylan met more than two years earlier and, after tasting Dylan's baking, Aaron proposed a collaboration. They've worked together ever since. Not willing to risk their friendship, Dylan has kept his feelings under wraps.

But a secret admirer begins to send Dylan thoughtful gifts twelve days before Christmas. The cute, clever gifts keep on coming and he's flattered, but they couldn't have come at a worse time. Aaron has finally asked him out.

What happens when the secret admirer’s identity is revealed on Christmas Day? Will Dylan's blossoming relationship with Aaron survive?

    Chapter 1

Dylan Hughes sighed wistfully as he was looking out through the window. The snow had covered the entire road and it did not look like stopping anytime soon. He could only hope that it would not affect his business. He had already baked too many pies, cakes, and cookies earlier that day. The leftovers would not taste as good the next day.

Sometimes he wished that he lived in a small town. Maybe there would be less competition and he could make a comfortable living off his bakery. His current place of business was in what used to be his grandparents’ bookstore. He had inherited the building after they had both passed away, so he did not have to worry about the monthly rental expenses. He was also fortunate enough that the building had been well-maintained, which was one less thing to worry about. He lived in the small apartment above the bakery.

However, installing the ovens, adding a few pieces of furniture at the front of the bakery, and a few other necessary investments had drained his savings completely. It had taken him almost eighteen months before the business became profitable. It was a frightening period in his life. Back then, he honestly felt like a failure at the ripe old age of twenty-nine. Things had settled down enough now and he did not have to worry about money anymore.

That was not the worst of it though. He had broken up with his boyfriend, Jonathan, when business was bad. It was a classic situation. He had been struggling to get his bakery off the ground so he did not have much time to spend with Jonathan. In hindsight, he should have seen it coming. That man seemed totally nonchalant about it, but he had been feeling guilty for neglecting the other man. Hence, he had paid Jonathan a visit at his apartment, wanting to surprise him on his birthday.

The surprise had backfired on him. Jonathan was celebrating in his bedroom by fucking around with four other men. He had left in utter humiliation. They broke up later that very same day. He did not even bother
