Why Makeup Is Important in the Lives of Women

! 0 000shr c3––––––––
Sometimes, people are quick to dismiss the power of makeup. Makeup is something that’s often regarded as an unnecessary luxury. Magazines and beauty brands often come under fire for perpetuating what is considered to be unrealistic beauty standard, but those individuals who hold this opinion can’t see makeup from the perspective that many beauty enthusiasts do.
For centuries, other cultures have been painting their faces in ceremony. These ceremonies, which extend from a basic rite of marriage all the way to war paint, use a painted mask as a message of empowerment. This sentiment has been lost somewhere in modern life.
When people see cosmetic adverts, they often treat them as appealing to a vain and insecure audience. For many women, this couldn’t be any less false. Makeup itself is spiritual to some extent. We wake up in the morning, and we make our choices. How will we style our hair? What will we choose to wear? How will we do our makeup? We’re crafting our persona. We’re putting ourselves together and deciding how we will face our day, getting into character to walk onto the stage of life and perform our hearts out.
Oftentimes, our confidence is amplified by our makeup. Knowing that we look good can make us feel good, a process that goes from the outside to the inside. Makeup is our war paint. Makeup encourages us to feel inner strength and the highest sense of empowerment. When we’re secure with ourselves, this security translates to other areas of our lives. We feel more comfortable making bold, innovative decisions in our workplace. We feel stronger in the way we present ourselves at job interviews or important meetings.
In some ways, makeup can contribute to our success. It’s not so much in the regard that makeup improves our appearance, encouraging others to judge us in a more positive light. It
