About this ebook

The third book in the popular Skate Park series by J.J. Wright. Fun for all in this heart warming and hilarious comedy about kids growing up in a suburban skate park. The first book in this series is still available for free.

The kids are shocked to discover that the local council wants to demolish their skate park. Victoria, being the brave clever one, decides to start a petition to save the park. However it's harder then she thinks. Is she brave enough to see it through and how will she cope with everyone else counting on her? It all seems to much just so she can have a quiet place to read her books and ignore everyone. The kids must work together or suffer the consequences, being sent to a youth club and Victoria won't learn to play table tennis for anyone.

This book is the third part of the series (the previous parts are still available here, the first book is a free download!) but has been written so knowing the first parts is not essential to the story. Chapter 1

Victoria walked into the park carrying her ruck sack which was brimming over with books. Once again she had left the house after an argument with her hippy mother. An agreement she had lost, or so her mother had assumed. Victoria was once more forced to go down to the park ‘to play’ and ‘to make friends’. Victoria never understood this whole ‘make new friends’ thing. She for one already thought that she had enough friends and she should know because she was so clever. Her friends were Jane Austin, the Bronte Sisters and Emily Dickinson. Some might say that the fact that these friends were dead and had been for several centuries was a disadvantage. Victoria chose not to see it this way, she saw the fact that they were dead and unable to annoy her, or ask her for a favour or insist of interrupting her reading, this was a huge advantage. She wished her other ‘living’ friends were as considerate. Victoria walked up to her bench. As usual she was the second person there. Danny was already skate boarding around and generally showing off, despite the fact that there was no-one to show off too. Victoria knew she had only minutes to get settled in to her reading. If she could be reading a book before Lucy arrived then there was a chance that she wouldn’t bother Victoria and instead would go off and stare at Danny all afternoon. Victoria gave Danny a brief nod. He nodded back. At least he knew not to bother Victoria unless he wanted her to slap him in the face, which he rarely wanted but she often did anyway.

Today was Tuesday so Victoria would start off with reading poetry, then chemistry and maybe finish up on some history. She set out her books on the bench, then reached into her bag and pulled out a thermos of tea she had made and placed in her bag earlier (whilst taking out the bottle of fizzy cola her mother had placed in there even earlier). Victoria then took out her apple, which she would save for later and sat down. She looked across the park, so far she was in the clear, before opening up her first book of poetry. Victoria didn’t care much for poetry. But she knew that poetry was important for her English grade and that in turn would be important for her schooling, college, university and then life. Victoria started to read, looking again to make sure that no one was going to bother her. In the time it had taken her to get ready for study others had arrived. Al was riding on his BMX, Leo looked like he had already begun trading, (this time selling completed football sticker sets to people who wanted to brag that they had collected them all but didn’t want to put in the effort) and there was a rustling in the bushes by the old mouldy bench which indicated that Simon and Lee had arrived. Then Lucy entered the skate park. Instinctively Victoria put her book up to block more of her face. If Victoria couldn’t see Lucy then surely Lucy wouldn’t be able to see Victoria. Victoria knew this was incorrect, but she tried anyway. Victoria was incorrect, Lucy sat down anyway.

Hey Victoria. Lucy started the conversation. There was
