My eyes widened, and my heart skipped a beat.
It was him.
I immediately pulled up the revolver and aimed it right at the man standing next to the table. Here he was, my tormentor. He even had another victim on his table. I could see the intricate tattoos running along the man on the table’s arm. My tormentor’s ‘kit’ of tools was laying on a stand nearby. The same tools he used on me, were present now. I aimed the revolver at his chest. His eyes were wide as he looked at me. I finally had the power to stop him. To end him. Luck favored me today, and I was finally going to get my revenge on the man that plagued me nightly with nightmares.

The Academy stood for one purpose. To train anyone it could in resisting the evil forces of the universe. It was built in a ‘pocket dimension’ on an ancient labyrinth where untold magics and artifacts were constantly being unearthed.

Evil took form in many ways. It could be a corrupting influence of an old god, or even the rampage of a murderous horde of orcs in another realm. The Paranormal Academy couldn’t possibly hope to quell every misdeed, but it took great interest in lessening the blow of true evil in the universe.

Within the Academy’s guidelines, only talented and gifted students above the age of eighteen are accepted into its walls. These students are then trained to hone whatever skills they possess, and refine them until that student can become an agent. It is these agents, that the Academy employs towards fighting evil forces that arise in the universe.

The thick scent of citrus hung in the air. A quiver ran up my spine as I knew what that meant. It meant he was ready to begin again. Candlelight flickered, casting shadows around the room. The light depicted warmth, perhaps even safety. But this place was far from any of those things. The only warmth I felt was when my body trembled. He enjoyed watching me squirm and never covered my eyes. He made me watch, every time. The images forever engrained in my memory.

I turned my head and tugged at my restraints. The bed kept me at an angle so that I was always able to see his work. I was always naked, like some blank canvas for his cruel machinations.

But he never laid a finger on me in a perverse way, at least not as you might think. No, his methods were far more cruel. I could understand sexual appetite. But what this creature did to me, was beyond my comprehension. All I knew, was that it hurt. Even now my body trembled with muscle memory. My body had become used to him and what he did to me. I’d lost count of how many times we’d been through this.

The door creaked open and he came straight for me.

I didn’t look at his face. I knew all of his features all too well. His short black hair, his angular features and fair skin. The toned muscles beneath his shirt and sleeves. He stood tall and proud. He was a monster.

He set his kit upon the desk beside the table I was restrained to. He opened it up and set out tiny jars of black ink. Then came the instruments my body had become
