In book three of Wildfires: Morgan is a shy librarian with fantasies of what it would be like to have the sole attention of three strapping firemen directed toward her. Of course it isn’t possible for her, but when you are surrounded with books in and out each day, dreaming becomes a part of everyday life.
Lex, Vince, and Storm have a plan to get the woman they want more than their next breath. They even have a group of old biddies on their side to help with the plan. What the three men learn is no plan is fail proof but...when you want something bad enough, not a blizzard, a firebug, or a misguided deranged stalker will keep them from having the woman they want. Now they just need her to cooperate and to realize life with them would be better than without them.

    Prologue

She belonged to him always, from the first time he saw her he knew, and soon so would she. Moving down the street he took in a deep breath, today was her birthday, a milestone and one he was going to share with her, finally. The timing was perfect, he thought, soon she would have nowhere else to go, which would work in his favor, since then she would be ready to take her place at his side. They would have the long winter nights in order to get comfortable with each other.

He reached a hand into his pocket and fingered the box that held her present. She would love it of course, and by giving it to her, he would be stating his intentions. He had planned this down to the smallest detail, all of her family would be around, as well as all of her friends. Well, really the whole entire town would be there for her party. Everyone loved Morgan—who wouldn’t she was perfect, at least for him.

He had moved here when he was a teenager, and he had been pissed. They moved him here deliberately they told him, it was the only thing they could think of to keep him out of trouble. He admitted he had been a handful when he was younger. However, moving to a town that was secluded for half of the year because the snow was so deep they couldn’t plow it until spring, seemed a little excessive. Literally secluded because of snow. Silvertown, Colorado, was high in the Rocky Mountains, just off the Million Dollar Highway. It was called this because it cost that much to make the highway since it was so high. Of course, the location made it virtually impossible to keep the road cleared during the winter because when it snowed it wasn’t an inch or two, it was measured in feet. So from the first snow until the spring they couldn’t get out, and no one could get in. Everyone who lived here knew it and was prepared, deep freezers and a huge storage shed for the local grocery to keep the dry goods they would sell. It wasn’t for everyone, but he had taken to it like a fish to water. Mostly because it was easy to hide the things he needed to hide here in the mountains, and no his parents would never find out, it was perfect really. He refused to ruin his day thinking about his parents, they hadn’t thought about him when they moved here, they had only thought about containing his brilliance.

He dealt with the situation just fine. But when he saw Morgan his first day of school he had known they were destined for each other. She had been asked by the principle to show him around the school, she had been thrilled to do it too. He knew it was because she had felt their connection even back then.

With a grin he paused and watched as Morgan walked into the library. She was gorgeous, and she didn’t know it. Everyone knew that because whenever you complimented her she blushed. She would make the perfect wife for him.

He took a deep breath and then moved slowly to the door, he didn’t want to get there too early because he hadn’t officially been told about the party they were giving her. He was sure it was an oversight, they just didn’t know how close he and Morgan had become lately.

    Chapter One

Morgan hung up the phone from her childhood friend, Keeley, who had called to wish her a Happy Birthday. She was so happy for her and the others who had found love on the mountain. She really shouldn’t have been surprised, Keeley’s parents were in a ménage. At first she had been a little shocked about the polyamorous relationships, but then she really stopped to think about it. Why would she be so shocked?

There were several around town, seriously. At first when Morgan moved here she had been a little surprised, but then she didn’t even notice it, especially since they were all so much in love, why would anyone argue about it. Hell, most people wouldn’t even realize it if they saw one. It made her mad when people judged others.

There town was a small one, it was also one that worked together through the winter weather, the summer wildfires, and the spring and fall flooding dangers. Basically, they knew when anyone moved into their small town. The mayor and city council took it upon themselves to explain the way things were around here. Not to freak people out, but to make sure they knew what they were getting into.

This was another reason why living where they did, the residents of the small town knew each other’s business, it was hard not to when you relied so heavily on each other. Which is the reason Morgan loved this town. She could have left but she had decided to remain, knowing that life here wouldn’t be easy. However, where could you find such support from a community. Nowhere, and if that meant being understanding about certain things, then the people of the town did it.

With a sigh, she stood and began getting dressed. Thinking on this too long gave her a headache, mostly because when she thought of men, she thought of three men only. Morgan bit her lip and leaned in and turned on the shower. She really was too shy to ever make any type of move.

Morgan wasn’t a large or a small woman, she was just a normal woman who wasn’t model thin. She long ago realized she wasn’t the type of woman who would ever garner the attention of the amazingly beautiful men who she crushed on. Damn it, she had read too many of those books again. When she read them, she totally started thinking that anything was possible. It wasn’t, she knew that in her head, it was her heart that needed to get the picture.

Morgan chuckled to herself and then began to get ready. She was having these talks with herself more and more frequently, hell, someone would even think she was a little nuts. Whatever, she needed to put this to bed once and for all, she thought firmly.

No more dreaming of the hot sexy men of the local fire department, nope not her. She was gonna be a spinster cat lady and be happy about it. Why? Because she had her books. Come what may, Morgan could always escape into one of her books. That was her lot in life and she wasn’t going to hope for more.

She needs to realize what is standing right in front of her face, the older woman snapped to her lifelong friends. They had been plotting and planning this day for a long time. It was the day their lovely young woman was going to finally merge into a butterfly.

What if she doesn’t actually get the clue yet again? one of her friends said.

All three women stopped and looked at each other remembering. The last time they had attempted to get their young ward to take the leap and see what was standing right before her, it had turned into a complete disaster. They weren’t ones to pull punches with anyone, and when they had finally noticed that the three lovely young men from the fire department had eyes for their young Morgan, they had been thrilled.

Although not one of them had wanted to make it obvious that they knew, the women hadn’t wanted to embarrass anyone. Especially since Morgan was so jumpy. So they had done what they had done best, meddled.

Not once had their plans gone so awry. They had made sure that everything was set just so. Made sure Morgan and the three handsome men were in the same place at the same time, the diner. Nature should have taken its course, Morgan was alone, the men sat and stared at her the entire time they had been there. Every time the men got up the three women had been sure they were going to approach, but nothing.

Then they had thought Morgan was going to make the move. She had smiled at them shyly and everything seemed to be on track and then the waitress had dropped a glass of water in her lap. Their poor girl had been mortified, especially when she had jumped up, knocked the chair of the old bitty behind her who proceeded to scream loudly, which caused Morgan to become even more flustered. It had been awful; they could still remember the look of horror on their dear child’s face.

Not this time though, they had this all planned out, they would be together in the one place where Morgan felt safe, her library. Today was the day for their girl. Nothing was going to stop it this time. They only needed a little nudge and everything would fall into place. Everyone in town knew it, heck, they all smiled at the group that night, knowing there was something there, it was obvious to everyone but the four of them.

    Chapter Two

    Happy Birthday!

The shouts startled Morgan when she walked through the automatic doors of the small library in Silvertown. Her co-workers soon surrounded her on all sides, their voices raised in excitement. Her sweet adopted family. With her parents’ death at such a young age, the older townsfolk stepped up and took her in. Heck, she looked around and even some of the local people were here, she smiled and waved at them a little. She saw Mr. Shockly from the grocery store, and Mr. Weber from the gas station, she even saw Mr. Frowly
