The Poetry of Food & Drink

About this ebook
Poetry for the connoisseur.
In one's lifetime there are various opportunities, and for whatever reason, some are seized and others rejected. On occasion, we heartly greet or labor to befriend each other, but what all of us have in common is a need and love for Food & Drink. Here's to a long, fruitful life!
Cheers!

Appearance, what one sees?
Hue, color, helpful light
Intensity of red and white
Age adds to the flavor
Maturity, growth, seasons pass
Soil, place, garden or path
Aroma, from dawn to dusk
Character, personality, alive
Kept in oak, sweet old wood
Taste, flavor, every time new
Sweetness, dry, sparkling
Persistent, well-balanced
Sound, a one-note concert
Pleasing to the ear
Crystal held in hand
Personality no longer hidden
Eye to eye contact
Our minds taste wine
Home
Ideal climate, vines thrive
Weather a worry to survive
In this season, stay alive
Summer the key, not too hot
Rainfall, but not a lot
Dangerous wind and cold
Well-drained soil
Stones absorb heat
Old world, new world threat
Slopes, flat land variation
Facing north, looking south
Higher ground, steep mountains
Ideal location with a view
Cultivation, hard-looking hands
Coastal beach, vineyard grand
Hot, humid, warm ripe fruit
Sweetness to excess, ice-wine
Dessert lusciously enjoyed
Buds emerge, then come flowers
Vines pruned twice each year
Color change, harvest autumn
Vines cry tears of joy
Thousands yield fruit
Into the bottles the sap of youth
