    I was eleven when I first kissed a boy. I held on to his face and we both closed our eyes and I kissed him on his nose. Four years later I saw that same boy stumble down a road to his death. As I watched him go, he never looked back. The memory of that day still brings unbearable pain because he had died with my loving him. But along with that memory are countless memories of him that bring me profound joy.

    My story really began years earlier so let me start from the beginning…

    Chapter One

    Will a horse bun hatch into a pony?

    All I want for Christmas is horseback riding lessons.

    It was Christmas season 2006; I was 8 years old, and my grandmother, (affectionately known as Gaga because as she admits she is quite gaga over her grandchildren - especially me) asked what I wanted for Christmas. I had seen ladies jumping horses at a barn close to my home so I told my grandmother I wanted to jump horses. On Christmas morning I opened a beautiful package with a Breyer plastic replica of a Pinto horse in it. The second present was a beautiful pair of shiny black paddock boots. My grandmother told me that her final present to me was two weeks worth of daily riding lessons that would begin the very next day.
