Chapter One

Noah stretched his legs and answered an email, his fingers struggling with his phone’s virtual keyboard to get the damn words down. The hospital noises were routine now and he barely noticed the sound of the call lights and requests for doctors on the P.A. system. Natasha should be out for lunch by now, but she often ran late since she was a conscientious person who was dedicated to her job.

The holidays were over and winter had slammed Baltimore with snow for over a week. With the cold weather, the hospital was busy with patients. It didn’t keep the staff from giving him the side-eye every once in a while. After all, he probably looked a little dangerous with his tattoos and shaved head.

It was a good thing that Natasha didn’t have an issue with his intimidating appearance. On the contrary. She seemed to revel in it. How she could find Noah’s hard-ass exterior attractive and also be head-over-heels for his long-time lover, Ty, he’d never know. But Natasha was a treasure.

It was their kink that had brought them together, though lately that had taken a back seat.

There she was. Natasha strode through the double doors, her bright-blue scrubs emphasising her blue eyes and blonde hair. Her gaze roamed the waiting room and she lit up when she saw him. Damn, she was stunning.

He rose as she practically skipped toward him, clearly happy about something. All Noah could think as he watched her was that he wanted to keep that look on her face forever. Good day?

She grinned. I helped deliver a beautiful baby boy today. He’s only a pound, but he’s a fighter.

One pound? Isn’t that dangerous? Noah opened the door to the cafeteria as they headed in for something to eat.

Very, she answered. But Caiden will make it. I know it.

Speaking of premature, Ty has a room booked for us at Master A’s house for the weekend. Noah put his order in and waited while she put in hers. He wasn’t sure how she’d feel about going public with their threesome.

Sure enough, Natasha had a crease on her forehead. He wants to play with me in front of other people?

You know he won’t if you’re not all for it, Noah reassured her. But we’ve been together for four months now and we haven’t played at all. I know that’s not what you came all the way out here for—

She reached out and touched his forearm. I’ve gotten so much more than I hoped for. When she smiled and dropped her gaze, Noah wondered if she knew how hard she made him. I came here for Ty. You were a surprise.

An unpleasant one, I know, he said, half serious. Was she still interested in him only because of Ty? Or did they have something of their own now?

No, she said slowly. Her gaze met his and he read the need there. Not an unpleasant surprise at all.

He inhaled deeply, trying to hang on to his control. The expression on her face, the way her fingers still rested on his skin, drove him crazy. Keep looking at me like that and you’re going to be in trouble.

With a sassy toss of her head, she sat back in her seat and broke the sexual tension. I love being in trouble. I miss it.

I think Ty knows that. He’s got a scene all planned for us.

She rolled her eyes. I can only imagine what you two cooked up.

He hasn’t given his dominant side full rein in a long time. He grinned at Natasha. He’s been a little busy.

Natasha chuckled. I’ll bet. I’d like to see you keep him busy, she said with a sexy downturn of her gaze. What will you be doing while he’s dominating me? she asked, her gaze still on the surface of the table.

Did she have any idea how appealing she was at that moment? He wanted to drag her into his arms and drive her to her knees. Those downward glances inflamed him. What do you think?

Her face flamed and her breath caught. I don’t know. Watching?

Is that what you want? he demanded to know.

She cleared her throat. No. Her stare was fixed on the table and he gripped her chin to make her look at him.

I know. You want Ty to dominate me. He shook his head. Not gonna happen.

No. I was hoping you’d...well...help Ty. Her voice broke.

Okay, okay. More than help him. Her laugh was warm, happy. The sound arrowed straight to his heart, not his dick. Noah steered clear of that thought.

Their conversation switched to Noah’s work on steampunk costume items and the upcoming holidays. These lunches had become a gateway for him into Natasha’s mind and, hopefully, her heart.

It occurred to him, as she waved her fork in the air, ranting about the latest administrative dictates regarding per-patient ratios, that she had trusted Noah and Ty with a lot. After all, she hadn’t known Noah at all when Ty had suggested this cozy threesome.
