Tina carefully slid the pie back into the oven and set the timer for another twenty minutes. She brushed cinnamon off her bathrobe and smoothed her hair, still damp from the shower.

It was barely daylight, but she'd been unable to sleep the night before. It wasn't for lack of trying. She'd tossed and turned in the darkness, listening to the wind rattling the chain link fence outside. Eventually she admitted she was too jittery, so why not distract herself by baking?
