Nelson crossed his arms over his broad chest and stared straight ahead. All around him, determined bodies in tight pants were bent over. Don’t forget to breathe, friends, he said.

The class exhaled as a group, in a soothing whoosh. Nelson tried to find comfort in the familiar smells of rubber yoga mats and the clean lemon scent of the wooden studio, but sweat trickled between his shoulder blades. Running a wildly successful tech startup hadn’t been nearly as stressful as teaching Grace’s Friday night class.

He hadn’t been an instructor for very long but had taken classes his whole life. Fit bodies in contorted positions didn’t normally distract him. And yet he was distracted. Uncomfortably so. His problem came from two students near the back of the class.

The solution was easy: avoid looking at them as much as possible.

When Samuel had come out in those tight black shorts, Nelson knew it was going to be a torturous session. And then Samuel pulled off his shirt, revealing abs that looked carved of stone. The woman nodded and forced her neck into a lower position. Nelson stood. "You’re doing great, everyone. Remember that today’s word is flow. Incorporate that into your practice. Allow the poses to happen. Don’t force them. If you have to strain, sooner or later you’re going to hurt yourself."

The woman eased up significantly, and Nelson stepped back, satisfied. He found that people relaxed more easily if he didn’t single them out for being tense.

His gaze swept over the students. For a moment he’d forgotten about Kimberly and Samuel, but there they were, bent over, asses in the air. So damned sexy.

Samuel turned his curly blond head and took a leisurely gander at Nelson. The night they slept together, Nelson had called the shots.
