    Chapter One

Chloe Hall sashayed across the showroom floor. She had been working at Wild Alpha Auto for three months now and she absolutely loved her job. Well, mostly loved her job. Like all things in her life, there were issues, but she hoped those things would soon be behind her and she could concentrate on doing what she did best: selling luxury automobiles. The floor was empty, so she took a quick turn into the Employees Only section of the showroom behind the rear swing doors.

Hey, Chloe. Two more and you’re going to make this month’s bonus pool, Greg, her no-nonsense manager, said.

Chloe smiled. She always appreciated his words of encouragement. She checked the sales chart to psych herself up. Yup. Greg was right. Two more vehicles and she’d be the top-performing salesperson for that month. She loved working at Wild Alpha Auto and she loved the fact that they had given her a chance to shine. Chloe hadn’t been in the small resort town of Wild Summit for terribly long and her previous job had barely paid enough to cover the rent for her and her grandfather.

Chloe had been looking after her granddad ever since she’d lost her parents. She loved the eighty-nine-year-old to death, but taking care of him while working full-time hadn’t been easy. Until, that was, she’d scored the salesperson position at Wild Alpha Auto. At first, when she had heard about the opening, she hadn’t been optimistic. A big, curvy girl like her selling luxury automobiles? Oh hell, she could sell them, she could sell all kinds of things. But first she’d have the uphill battle of selling herself. After all, curvaceous, plush women with a little meat on their bones weren’t exactly the stereotype that sold fast cars. She figured the men who bought those kinds of vehicles probably needed a penis extension, and the guys that sold them were no doubt the same. Fortunately, she was wrong on both counts.

When Chloe walked into Wild Alpha Auto for her interview, she was greeted by the lovely Amanda, a curvy, ample woman in her own right, and then she sat down for an interview with Greg, who thought she might have exactly what it took to sell some cars. Turned out he was right. Three months later and she’d made some new friends, moved into a new apartment with her grandfather, and basically improved her life to no end. There were, of course, some old problems that had trailed her, but nothing was perfect and she felt good about the new day.

Chloe, you’ve got a visitor, Amanda called out from her desk near the front of the showroom.

    Thanks, girl.

Chloe strode onto the showroom floor in her breezy dress and heels. She dressed the part for work, a little upscale, just enough for her mocha skin and curves to fit in beside some of the finest luxury automobiles the world had to offer. Ferrari. Lamborghini. Bentley. You didn’t need to sell a lot of these guys in a month. The commission off one car was enough to live well, and Chloe was doing better than that. She smiled brightly, ready to greet her customer.

    Granddad?

Granddad, what are you doing here?

I forgot to tell you we need to bring Rusty to the vet for his shots, her grandfather said.

    Rusty’s here too?

A beautiful golden retriever ran across the showroom floor. He jumped up on her new dress. Oh well, a little dog hair never hurt anyone. She gave Rusty a hug.

    Sorry, Chloe.

No problem, Granddad. When’s Rusty’s appointment?

Chloe’s grandfather checked his watch. Half an hour.

Chloe sighed. It wasn’t the easiest thing looking after her granddad and his dog, but you had to do what you had to do. Besides, how could she resist that gleam in her Granddad’s eye? Fortunately, they only lived a five-minute walk away. It hadn’t been too long a haul for him.

Don’t worry, Granddad. I’ll get him there. How about you? Are you doing all right?

You know me, Chloe. Her grandfather raised his fists like a boxer. Always fighting.

Chloe laughed. Her grandfather actually had been a boxer, and it always brought a tear to her eye, thinking about him like that, in his youth. No time for sentimentality, though, Chloe had to figure out what she was going to do. First, she needed to talk to Greg. She could take a break, but she wanted to wait until he was able to get somebody else on the floor to cover for her.

    Chloe, you’re up, Greg said.

An up in car sales parlance was a customer who entered the showroom. The salespeople took turns in greeting the new customer, and if they got a sale, it would belong to them. It was a fair system and Chloe liked it. Except today she had her granddad and Rusty to think about. No matter, she could always get the next one. The customer already had his head inside a car. Probably just a tire kicker anyhow. You got lots of those.

Chloe sauntered across the floor. She seemed to be the only one around, so she figured she’d greet the customer and then pass him off once she found somebody to handle him. She strode with pep in her step, enjoying the silky friction of the dress as it moved with her curves.

Make sure Granddad doesn’t need anything else, get Rusty to the vet, sell a car. All in a day’s work.

Good morning. You’re in a little early to buy a Ferrari, don’t you think?

Actually, I had my heart set on a Lambo, the guy said in a raspy growl.

He pulled his head out of the car window. This was not your typical customer. He wasn’t old. He wasn’t smarmy. And he didn’t look like a jerk. On the contrary, he looked… fantastic. Tall and clean cut, with a broad chest
