SMALL TALK FORMULA
Take advantage of every opportunity to practice your communication skills so that when important occasions arise, you will have the gift, the style, the sharpness, the clarity, and the emotions to affect other people.
—JIM ROHN
– WHY YOU MUST MASTER THE SKILL OF CONVERSATION –
Communication is the number-one thing we do as people to tell others about how we feel, what we want and many other things that are on our minds. It is the foundation of building relationships with those around us. We’re naturally social creatures, whether you believe it or not, we all crave being social. That may not be face-to-face for millions of people, who’d rather sit at home and escape via the internet. But I assure you these people are still involved in some sort of social activity on the internet.
If you were to remove the social aspects of many avenues across the net, you’d likely see the popularity of those activities drop. Now, what I’m alluding too is that being a great conversationalist is a fundamental skill to have under your belt. It’s a skill that can help you get to where you want to go in life and meet the people who's attention you desperately want to captivate. Meaning, how well you’re able to communicate with others, plays a huge factor in determining your success in life, as I mentioned in the beginning of this book.
If you’re lonely now, once you master the art of conversation, you’ll never be alone again. You’ll always have more friends and more things to go do then you’ve ever had before. You’ll even have more options when it comes to meeting more attractive people of the opposite sex. Not only will the new relationships you create be far-more enjoyable than your past. You’ll have the ability to create more trusting and open relationships through the way you caress
others with your words.
When you begin to implement your new conversation skills into your life, you’ll find opportunities springing up everywhere you go. From standing in line at the grocery story, riding the transit or going out on the weekends to a local bar will allow you too:
Create a new circle of friends that will open up doors to fun social engagements.
Enjoying going out more and feeling better about yourself.
Network with successful people in business.
Meet new fun-and-exciting people, including something a little intimate.
Do the things you want to do, with the types of people you want to hang out with.
Never be nervous about what your going to say and worrying about if you’ll run out of things to say
And… create chemistry with people you never thought you’d get along
